This should be pretty obvious, folks; just note that while the central topic of the group should be the philosophical discussion of anime and manga, one may also venture into other nearby territory (comics/graphic novels, gaijin cartoons etc.) if an examination of the meanings thereof would seem to lead to a better understanding of human being and being as such.

As moderator I offer only the requirement that posts should contain footnoted citations or selected bibliographies when necessary (Chicago guidelines are preferred but not required). Further development of normative rules shall be established by free consensus arrived at during communicative discussion.

(note: the above is mostly a joke. You are allowed to have fun and post about how you're in love with the Ichigo Mashimaro girls or whatever, but at the same time no one will object to a heavily annotated examination of, say, Escaflowne. Ideally we might have something in-between these two)
