I’m writing to tell you that my second novel, ONE DANCE IN PARIS, will be released this Tuesday, July 3. It’s an exciting time for me, and I hope you’ll join in the excitement.
ONE DANCE IN PARIS is the story of too-tall misfit Linda Stone, who is resigned to a dead-end existence … until a mysterious gift leads her to follow the path of the mother she never knew, who lived a life of unimaginable glamour and decadence as a Las Vegas showgirl and then as the queen of the Folies Bergère in Paris. Soon Linda finds herself stepping into her mother’s high-heeled rhinestone shoes and asking herself if she dares to love, and to dance her own dance.
If you read and enjoyed my first book, A DANGEROUS DRESS, you’ll love ONE DANCE IN PARIS. (If you didn’t read the first one, you’ll love this one anyway!) The new book is edgier, sexier, yet still funny, glam, and oh-so-romantic. But don’t take my word for it. Here are the raves from some of my fellow authors (and wonderful MySpace friends):
“Enchanting and delightful, yet poignant and real, One Dance in Paris is one great read!” - Jen Lancaster, author of Bitter is the New Black and Bright Lights, Big Ass
“Poignant, funny, bawdy, and glamorous all at once. I’d certainly book a ticket to Julia Holden’s Paris.” - Zoe Rice, author of Pick Me Up
“One Dance in Paris is the perfect summer read … you’ll swallow it up in one gulp.” - Allison Winn Scotch, author of The Department of Lost & Found
“Fast-paced and delightful, One Dance in Paris sparkles like the City of Light itself.” - Kristin Harmel, author of The Blonde Theory
“A novel capturing the real Parisian atmosphère is a rarity worth noticing … a perfect treat for all the Francophiles out there.” - F.G. Gerson, author of 21 Steps to Happiness
You can pre-order now, and I’d love it if you would order the book anytime between now and July 3 or 4, particularly if you’re buying it online. (For at least one bright shining moment, it’d be nice to have sales figures that look like a bestseller on amazon.com or bn.com.)
If you read it and like it, please recommend it to your friends. And if you adore it, by all means write a review on amazon.com or bn.com.
Finally, let me say a huge “Thanks!” to you and all my other friends. Your encouragement and support mean so much to me. I love writing books, and I love hearing from my readers. But book publishing is still a business, and publishers look for sales – so if you want to help ensure that my second book will be followed by a third (and a fourth, and a fifth, and …), then please give my new book a try.
Remember: everybody deserves to have ONE DANCE IN PARIS.
All best,
Julia
P.S. I think I would love for people to send me thier favorite quotes from books and I could post those on. Just mail me and tell me who the author is and what book.
P.S.S. If you know of a way to make the page look different such as color and pictures let me know!!
WHEN MAKING A POST ABOUT A BOOK PLEASE PUT THE AUTHOR OR BOOK AS THE SUBJECT SO IT IS EASIER TO FIND IN THE FUTURE AFTER IT IS OFF THE MAIN PAGE!!! THANKS!!! LOVES!!!!
