Family
The drama, scandals and debauchery of the club night Family were the backdrop of one of the hottest series of events in Detroit club history. FAMILY began as a one off event in 1996 (featuring Rob Hood, Carl Craig, Derek Plaslaiko, and Adam Haupt), and was followed up the next year by Home: The Family Reunion. FAMILY residents included Echo (Jason Kendig), Jeremy Christian, Derek Plaslaiko, Dilemma, Ronin, Justin Kruse, SK1, Lauren Flax, and the master, Brian Gillespie. The superstar talents that were guests there are too many to name but included some of the world’s top djs and producers. Above all, though, it was the crowd, Detroit’s real family, that made the party happen every time. Everyone was welcome, no matter how they identified themselves.
