This is a competition for dogs, somewhat similiar to shows like Westminster, but for the dogs at home on Myspace! There will be several competitions. (Dog related discussion is more than welcome here too.. obviously, we all love dogs!)



DO NOT CAMPAIGN WHATSOEVER. This means, do not post "Vote for me!" in bulletins, etc. If you do, there will be a dock in your votes and/or a possible disqualification. And if you're a friend of someone who is competing, don't make any 'vote for my friend' things either, because you could get your friend disqualified. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but this is not a popularity contest. All dogs are to be judged fairly. The polls are private, therefore no pressure to vote for someone that is your friend. I cannot stress this enough and a few participants were worried about this as well, so I thought I'd make it clear. Posting about the show is fine, just no 'vote for me' please! If you see any campaigning, whether it's through messaging, bulletin, blog, anything, please email me directly. Your name will remain confidential. All contestants get 3 strikes if they ask for votes.

1st strike = docking of 5 votes
2nd strike = docking of 10 votes
3rd strike = you're out. disqualified from the dog show.

JUDGE BY THE BREED'S STANDARD. I understand that this is not a regular dog show, and you can't fully judge on the standard with aspects such as the gait, movement, bone structure, etc.. but I have included tidbits of the dogs' standards from the American Kennel Club website that you can use for judging, such as eyes, ears, etc. And for breeds not recognized by the American Kennel Club, I find the standard on a kennel club website that does recognize the breed, or the breed's official club. So, please use your best judgement.

And of course, be a good sport! This show is just for fun for us dogs on Myspace. No need to get worked up, angry or hostile. We are not professional judges, this is not a real prestige dog show.
