Chévere: (adj. Spanish familiar) terrific, great, fantastic, cool


Chevere is a term that for us evokes oldschool Nuyorican flavor. It makes us think of, piraguas & fire-hydrant sprinklers in the summer, playing freeze tag on the block, disco balls, block parties,practicing the Hustle, summer vacations in Puerto Rico, Quenepas & Coquito, Spades & Casino, oldtimers playing dominoes, guayaveras, Tanning at Tar Beach or hanging on our fire-escapes AKA urban balcony, claves & congeros, grandma's fresh sofrito, handball and much more.

When we think of what is Chevere now, we think of fly dance moves, fierce style, non-conformity, self expression, partying with friends we love, eating great food, traveling, a deephouse track so dope it brings tears to our eyes, all that is cool, fabulous and full of flavor in our lives, The power of our music and culture to influence the world in a positive way so that we can ALL live everyday CHEVERE.

It isn't necessary to be Nuyorican to appreciate Chevere. We originate in NYC, the International fishbowl, thus CHEVERE is for everyone.
