This is a group for Enneagram Type 2's or those who wish to understand us.
The Enneagram's 9 types are divided into 3 groups (or triads). Type 2's, often called "The Lovers", "The Givers" and "The Altruists" are a members of the "
Feeling Triad" and are bordered on either side by Types 1's ("The Reformers") and 3's ("The Achievers"). These two types are often referred to as type 2's "wings", seeing as most people find they identify with at least some characteristics of one or both of their wing-types.
Healthy 2's tend to be empathetic, compassionate, and feeling towards others. They are caring and concerned, thoughtful, warm-hearted, forgiving and sincere. Encouraging and appreciative, they are able to see the good in others. They are nurturing, generous, and giving.
At Their Best: they can become deeply unselfish, humble, and altruistic: giving unconditional love to themselves and others.
But like other members of the
Feeling Triad, two's tend to struggle with issues of identity and self-worth. But with consistant effort are capable of trancending these concerns.
Seeing as most twos are highly invested in relationships, you might want to research the compatibility (strengths and weaknesses) of the various
Enneagram pairings. (NOTE: Every pairing gives both a best and worst case scenario. So try not to feel too discouraged.)
And if you are serious about your
personal growth and self-actualization the Enneagram can be a powerful tool if you really take the time to understand the "
levels of development" and the "
spiritual" dimension of the enneagram whether you are religious (theistic) or not.

free Enneagram test online and/or the
Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator *Sampler* While not as reliable or precise as taking the full
Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator, it should at least help you narrow it down.
But regardless of your Enneagram Type, you might consider joining the Myspace
Enneagram discussion group.
The following websites are fantastic resources as well:
The Enneagram Institute,
9Types.com.
Curious about other personality typing systems? Check out the
Myers-Briggs Typology group. Theory postulates and research shows that the majority of Enneagram Type 2's tend to be either
ENFJ's or
ESFJ's according to the MBTI. So you might want to check out those groups as well.
