After 4 years of developing the Calgary tuner scene, the 2006 edition of the BFGoodrich Sport Compact Nights (SCN) is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated automotive events in Albertan history. Having hosted a colossal show in 2005 that exceeded many industry insider's expectations, the BFGoodrich Sport Compact Nights is back in Calgary with a feature line-up that is sure to have Calgarians all revved up. Scheduled for May 6th at the Round Up Centre on the Stampede Grounds, Team SCP prepares to gather the best rides that cruise the "Red Mile" and bring them all under one roof.
"Based on the phenomenal turnout of last year's show, we knew we had the responsibility to take it up a few notches," says Ben Woo, National Director, Team SCP. "We suspect that the Alberta market is the most ripe in Canada, therefore we will strive to deliver a show that will leave enthusiasts more inspired and excited than ever."
Show highlights include the inaugural Calgary presence of the Ferrari F2004 F1 Championship car replica in the Shell booth. The first ever appearance of the infamous Alpine BMW X5 demo vehicle that was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics show in Las Vegas last year will be showcased in the Visions Electronics display. Local exotic car gurus, ZR Auto will be present with a massive display honouring elite rides such as Canada's first twin-supercharged Novitec Ferrari F430 Spyder as well as an ultra high-end Saleen S7 twin turbo. Also on display, Mike Chapmans 2005 Subaru STI that will steal the show in the BFGoodrich Tires booth.
As a special attraction, the host of the hit television series, "Overhaulin", Chris Jacobs will be present to witness the unveiling of his personal custom creation, a Dodge Magnum personalized by Red Deer's own, Installation Station. Joining him will also be California import supermodel, Ms. Jeri Lee, in her highly anticipated Calgary debut.
Without question, the BFGoodrich Sport Compact Nights in Calgary will have the makings of an event that will elevate the tuner market to the next level. Now add to this an expected 250 plus show caliber vehicles, major vendor booths including the likes of BFGoodrich Tires, Castrol, Shell V-Power, Visions, XM Radio, Clarion and Meguiar's, along with the ever popular Rocawear Show Stage and the result should be utter mayhem. On Saturday, May 6th, Calgary best be prepared.
