The Oakland Men of Leisure was spawned by some of the Easy Bay Area's most progressive and forward thinking young radicals. Decaying in some of West Oakland’s filthiest darkest establishments, they grew increasingly disgusted with the commonly excepted definition of "The Modern Gentlemen" that permeates through the media and many social circles. They sought to begin a movement that would not only educate men on the finer points of life-- by way of example, but would set the standard for essential manners, conduct, savvy, and vice. The Men of Leisure strive to serve as role models for those who lack gentlemanly knowledge.
