Welcome to the Mourningside fangroup. (not to be confused with the horror-hardcore band called Mourningside from Boston, Massachusetts with releases on Rodent Popsicle Records and founded in 1999) is an alternative metal band that formed in Little Rock, Arkansas in 2004.

Guitarist John LeCompt and vocalist Jack Wiese became friends when Jack's band, the.5th.element from St.Louis, MO, were the opening act at an Evanescence (which John played guitar in at the time) show. They became friends and started a side-project called Mourningside once Evanescence finished touring in 2004.
