The Stolen Sweets' repertoire is inspired by the Boswell Sisters - Martha, Connee and Vet, one of the most popular vocal groups of the 1930s. Unlike sister acts that came before and after them, these girls were gritty and progressive: they were classically trained instrumentalists who devised all their own arrangements and sang lyrics intended solely for men.

The Stolen Sweets have evidenced their broad appeal by selling out venues from The Aladdin Theater to Doug Fir to Jimmy Mak's, garnering fans from hip kids to golden-agers. The band aims to re-create that old supper club vibe, electing to play smaller clubs where the lights are dim, the drinks are stiff, and the bartenders are friendly.

Equipped with such Portland notables as Pete Krebs, Jen Bernard, and Lara Michell, The Sweets tight three-part vocal harmonies and boisterous string syncopations are sure to please.
