VIRTUAL TIBETAN BUDDHIST SANGHA
May all mother sentient beings, boundless as the sky, have happiness and the causes of happiness.
May they be liberated from suffering and the causes of suffering.
May they never be separated from the happiness which is free from sorrow.
May they rest in equanimity, free from attachment and aversion.
Our Precious Drikung Kagyu Teachers
DRUPON THINLEY NINGPO RINPOCHE BLESSED THIS GROUP ON : MARCH 2ND, 2006
This Sangha is for:
1.) Those interested in learning more about Tibetan (Vajrayana) Buddhism
2.) Active Vajrayana Practitioners
3.) Those looking for spiritual answers to samsaric suffering (Also there are no "silly" questions... as a Western Buddha once said, "Ask and ye shall receive.")
Note: This group is structured very differently than most and useful information is sprinkled throughout the various threads (if interested in Tibetan Buddhism, you should select "View All Topics", then click on the "Index..." topic thread and read through each hyperlink).
The aspirations of the Sangha are as follows:
1.) Provide a prayer list (MOST IMPORTANT FUNCTION)
2.) Provide Resources to locate a physical sangha (although this sounds like a "no-brainer" it's amazing how many people have found sanghas through the group).
3.) Provide a format for the dissemination of Vajrayana teachings (primarily so that people can have their interests piqued enough to connect with a physical sangha)
***This is a Sangha that exists via action (typing words on a screen)... therefore a big aspect of the Dharma... BEING as opposed to doing (typing words on a screen) --- is opaque to us.
In other words, we don't see when other members are simply BEING... simply breathing, simply resting in the nature of mind, simply resting in the clarity of consciousness.
All we see is the "doing" part (typing words on a screen)... so we need to take the words "lightly", realizing that they are pointing to something greater than the words, realizing that they are pointing to that which is trancendent of concepts and dualism.
If anyone thinks that the Sangha is words on a screen, they are missing a crucial element of the process. The Dharma is being instead of doing.
Take the words, concepts, emotions, etc., lightly. At best they point to that which is transcendent of words, concept, emotions... at worst they lead to discursive thoughts and emotions.
That's why there is so much "conflict" on the message boards... because we are confusing the words with the TRUE dharma that transcends words. We are confusing the concepts with the person speaking the concepts.
The most important thing to remember is our love for each other as human beings. We are all precious to each other and therefore we are a true Sangha. Don't let the words on the screen blind you to the truth of the humanity that is absorbing those words.
This is why I emphasize the "prayer list" so much. Because it connects us to each other in a way that transcends concepts. It connects us to each other in the Dharma.
.and all beings in samsara and nirvana
And by the innate root of virtue,
May I and all sentient beings quickly attain
Unsurpassed, perfect complete, precious Enlightenment.

Message from Khenchen Rinpoche
"With respect to all religions in the world that exist, Every sentient being desires happiness and to be free from suffering. This is true for human beings as well as even animals. In an instinctive nature, the study and practice of kindness and compassion are universal.
Mind free from afflictions, this is the basis of all of our spiritual journeys. To implement this, understanding and development of wisdom on various methods is indispensible."
Written for the Virtual Tibetan Buddhist Sangha by Venerable Khenchen Konchog Gyaltshen Rinpoche, Grand Abbot of the Drikung Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism on 6/9/06 - Through the blessings of this posting may all sentient beings achieve perfect Buddhahood.
