Yeah Aaron North...yep thats the guy

interviews here:1) Describe Aaron North in 3 words?
AN) Single white male

2) Are you vain?

AN) No

3) What was the last album you heard, and what did you think of it?

AN) I was listening to an old English band called Kaleidoscope in my car on my way home tonight. their first album "tangerine dream" came out in 1967, and is one of the most underrated psychedelic pop-rock albums of all time. better than the first Pink Floyd album even. too bad the album is out of print. but it slays. so yeah... that was the last album i heard.

4) Are you kind to small mammals and old ladies?

AN) I eat small mammals sometimes. I don't like old people. fat people too. i hate fat people the most.

5) Who are your three favourite guitarists?

AN) Ron Asheton, Pete Townshend, Syd Barrett

6) What are your thoughts on Guns n'roses?

AN) That first album was classic. I don't consider that new line-up with the backing band freak show to be guns n' roses, and I'm sure most people feel the same way.

7) What is the status between you and the Icarus Line?

AN) I quit the band. I was over it. I did not quit the Icarus line to join Nine Inch Nails,I quit the Icarus line about a month before I started playing with NIN.

8) Have you heard the new NIN album, and if so, what are your favourite tracks?

AN) I have... and I'm not going to tell you. I will say that it is an amazing and inspiring record. Really fun stuff to play.

9) You piss on Robin Finck's shoes according to Trent. What do you think of that?

AN) I don't know. It's apples and oranges. My style and approach to guitar is nothing like that dude's. I've only seen him play once... when my old band played a festival in Japan with guns n' roses... he seems like a great guitar player, but like i said, apples and oranges.

10) What are your plans and thoughts for 2005?

AN) Tour.

OK different one here:

Matzah: What's in your rotation?

Aaron North: In N' Out, Del Taco, Panda Express, Tommy's.

Matzah: Who are your influences as a musician?

Aaron North: I'm a musician? If so, the list would be long and boring. It would start with a bunch of people who could barely play but made the most of it with soul and panache. People such as Ron Asheton, Bob Dylan, Syd Barrett, etc.

M: Could you give us a history of your musicianship/music career?

AN: Started playing guitar when I was 14. Played in a really bad hardcore punk bands through my teens. Played with the Icarus Line people from 1996 to 2004. That about covers it.

M: When did you take a larger interest in music, aside from playing (i.e. interviews, reviews, starting a label)?

AN: Punk rock is what made me really want to be involved in music. Up until discovering that, music seemed way too hard and technical to get caught up in. I liked Guns N' Roses and Metallica, but there was no way I'd ever be able to cut that shit, until I heard Black Flag and I realized I could probably do that stuff myself and it seemed more fun and pertinent anyway than soloing and worrying about technique and all that crap.

M: What are your hobbies besides music?

AN: Mexican food. Sleeping. Dudes.

M: What music blogs do you read? If any?

AN: None. Not a big internet fan.

M: How do you feel about the growing role of the internet in music (filesharing, music blogs, etc)?

AN: I dunno. I don't really participate in the file sharing stuff and I don't participate in or read anything on the internet besides Buddyhead.

M: What role do you play with Buddyhead now that you've joined NIN?

AN: Same as I always have, run the fucker with Travis.

M: Could you give us a brief history of Buddyhead?

AN: Started as something fun to do cos we were bored, about 1998 we put out some records cos we thought it'd be fun and we were bored. Still do it wheneverit seems like fun and we're bored.

M: Something I know a lot of people enjoy about Buddyhead is the gossip column. Short and to the point, but sarcastic and hilarious at the same time, you and Travis have successfully managed to piss off the likes of Fred Durst, among others. Who writes the gossip?

AN: Me and Travis write the gossip.

M: Did you guys ever 'make up' with Fred Durst? Or, better yet, have you had any confrontations with him since?

AN: Naw. That kind of shit isn't even really on my radar anymore.

M: How did the opportunity to join Nine Inch Nails come about?

AN: They asked me to be in the band. I said, "ok."

M: Are you planning to stick with NIN through the summer tour or continue afterwards as a permanent member?

AN: Haven't thought about it.

M: Do you have any plans for after NIN?

AN: Not really. Haven't thought about it.

M: Aside from the money, what are the benefits for you as a musician playing in NIN than in the Icarus Line?

AN: None. What's more important than money?

M: Also, I know that NIN is scheduled to play Coachella on May 1st. How does it feel to be headlining Coachella? Are you nervous?

AN: Hmmmm, not really. Haven't thought about it. I've played festivals before. Playing to that many people isn't nearly as frightening as playing a solo show to a handful of your closest friends.

M: What bands are you excited to see?

AN: Hmmmm, not really too hyper-stoked on any of the bands really. There's some cool stuff I wanna check out, but nothing I'm wetting my pants over.

M: I also wanted to ask you a few questions about your former band, the Icarus Line. When did you officially split with the band?

AN: Late last year.

M: Was the Icarus Line split amicable?

AN: I dunno. I didn't stick around for a reaction. I just quit. You'd have to ask them.

M: Have you heard the new Icarus Line material ('Fashion Fever' maybe?) If so, what do you think of their direction?

AN: Haven't heard any new stuff from them. Hasn't really peaked my interest to check anything out.

M: Do you keep in touch with anyone from the band?

AN: No.

Fan Questions:

1. Why'd you cut your hair?

AN: I wasn't born with long hair y'know. I was starting to look like I was either a wrestler, or homeless, or both. Not cool.

2. Choose one to have sex with, one to marry, one to kill: Travis Keller [of Buddyhead], Trent Reznor [of Nine Inch Nails], Joe Cardamone [of Icarus Line].

AN: I wouldn't want to fuck, marry, or kill any of those people. Sorry.

3. Were you a dork in high school?

AN: No. The dorks were the ones who actually went.

K diff one:Q Everyone knows that NIN is pretty much Trent Reznor's baby. Having been in the band for a year now, what would you say Reznor is really like?

A It's never been a set thing where he was the only member. Before, he just took so long in between records that certain people didn't want to sit around, but guys have stuck around and been members of the band ... The exciting thing about what's going on now (is) now Trent's sober and we're all so excited about the new lineup and all the music is popping up now. The idea is to make a new record right away, which will be the first time that happened since the early '90s.

Q Where do you see NIN fitting in regards to the current music industry?

A I see it the way I saw it when I was a kid. It's something definitely on the radar, but it's not a huge force or mainstream thing. It's not the type of thing that the majority of people are going to be into or ever will be, but not to sound cliche or stereotypical, but it's always an alternative for people who want to check something else out who don't want to listen to mainstream pop.

Q The gossip of the Web site you co-run, Buddyhead.com, is known for being rough on other musicians/celebrities. Has anyone you've made fun of let you know they were unhappy about it?

A Sometimes ... The idea behind (the site) is just the fact you can pick up any music magazine, and 95 percent of the time, there's the same opinion expressed. We don't have any big editor to answer (to) or chance of pissing off certain advertisers, so there's no hidden agenda with us, so we can say whatever we want. ... It's not supposed to be taken seriously all the time, and people take it way too seriously.

It's like the same thing Nine Inch Nails' music is: It's an alternative which is not for everybody. ... We're not trying to appeal to everyone at once. Trent's always tried to make music that's interesting to him and get him psyched up, so that's enough for him and that's enough for us.

Q You had a pretty infamous incident at a Hard Rock Cafe in 2002 when you broke a display case and tried to play a guitar belonging to the late Stevie Ray Vaughn. What were you thinking?

A People were trying to say I was trying to make a big statement or dis Stevie Ray Vaughn. (But) the band I was playing with at the time, we had just come back from a European tour in the middle of winter and it was just a miserable experience and our manager booked us into that show at the Hard Rock, and we just wanted to go home, so all I was really trying to do was piss him off (laughs) ... Afterwards is when it blew up and I was getting death threats.

Q Lastly, what makes a NIN concert unlike any other?

A Sometimes, chaos is a good thing. Some guitar players are afraid of making mistakes, hitting the wrong notes or their equipment failing or different factors that are going to make them look unprofessional. For me, that's what makes the show interesting.

When I was a kid and would go see a rock show and something f-ed up would happen, there was a riot or all the gear got broken, that's more exciting than going up and having the most perfectly executed show go off without a hitch ... We put a show on that people are going to talk about and maybe change people's views on what rock 'n' roll has to be.

diff one:
As the current guitarist for Nine Inch Nails, Aaron North sometimes still finds himself in awe of being onstage with the band, rather than in the audience.

"I was a big fan growing up, so now when I see a 15-year-old kid in the audience, I think, 'Wow, I was that 15-year-old kid,'" he said in a recent telephone interview. "For me, playing with Nine Inch Nails is like fantasy camp for guitar."

Although NIN has gone through several guitarists since the band's inception in 1988, North feels like his position is permanent.

"I don't think Trent meant to keep changing guitarists, but there have been periods of years between some of the records and sometimes people can't wait around," he said.

North brings a somewhat different guitar sound to the band. As the former guitarist for The Icarus Line, North brings a punk sensibility to his playing. While earlier Nine Inch Nails' guitarists' sounds would hardly be called mellow, North pushes the intensity factor up a notch.

"My approach is different than Trent's or previous guitarists," North said. "They were a little more polished than I am. I come from a more punk and chaos style; I follow it to see where it goes. I believe that if you don't fall flat on your face once in a while, you're not really playing. Trent seems to appreciate that."

In The Icarus Line, North's sonic barrage carried the band's sound, but in Nine Inch Nails, he allows himself to hold back more.

"The Icarus Line was a guitar band but with Nine Inch Nails, songs may be based on a rhythm or a bass line, so I don't have to play something all the time," he said.

But North's different style helped when Reznor challenged the band to change some of the older songs around.

"Some of these songs have been played pretty much the same way for 10 years, so Trent wanted to move things around," North said. "So now he may play keyboards on a song he used to play guitar on or I may play a keyboard part on the guitar."

While North welcomed this challenge, it added to the workload when he joined the band. It meant that North not only had to learn 40 songs in a short period of time, but also come up with new parts for many of them.

"It was hard to put the creative hat on for that many songs and come up with my own parts, especially after hearing those songs a different way for years," he said. "It was challenging but also rewarding and fun when we did it."

North said that reinventing some of the songs helped the band members bond.

" It put everyone on the same page and it shows that the band has the right chemistry to pull these songs off," he said.

diff one:Nine Inch Nails' music paints a dark canvas of foreboding and despair, and the band's front man Trent Reznor cultivates a similar aura, shot through with Gothic hues and the hint of mystery.

So it comes as quite a surprise to learn what's on the TV in Nine Inch Nails guitarist Aaron North's Toronto hotel room while he's chatting with a reporter on the phone. On the tube: The Home and Garden network.

What's up with that?

"What do people expect?" North said. "There are all these kids that think that Trent, like, sleeps in a coffin or something. That when room service comes to the door ... a bunch of fog will roll out, that there are, like, strobes happening in the room. It's a lot less glamorous than people think."

Just goes to show, you can't judge a musician by the album cover.

For all the excitement of being on a major rock 'n' roll tour, there are many hours of dull down time for every two hours of performing bliss. So you have to find your own amusement, not always easy when you're stuck in a strange city in the middle of winter for days on end.

Sometimes you end up checking out the home decor trends on TV, and then channeling your pent-up energies into the night's performance. That's what North has done, to the extent that Reznor has referred to him, with apparent affection, as "insane."

"You get bored, and you get an hour and a half to vent. That's your time to let it all hang out, and I take advantage of it," North said. "I'm not crazy. I've been sitting on my hands for a week at a time, and you get an hour and a half to let loose."

North has been on this tour for a year, an eternity for Nine Inch Nails, which is essentially Reznor and a revolving-door cast of musicians. The latest NIN album, "With Teeth," came out last May after a five-year hiatus, and Reznor performed most of the music himself.

Reznor has a reputation for being a controlling, "fuhrer-type dude," so when North came on as a touring guitarist, he expected to be given a set list with detailed instructions on how to play each song.

On the contrary, Reznor handed North a list of 40 songs with the task of coming up with new arrangements, guitar solos and ideas for giving each of them a different vibe.

The assignment "made me a little scared and bummed me out because it would have been way easier for someone to tell me, 'This is how the song goes.'

"The more challenging part was, he said, 'Hey, here are these songs. I've been playing some of these songs for 15 years, and I don't want to play them that way anymore. ... Do whatever you want.'"

Getting to a comfort level took a while, North said, but once he got settled into the tour, the new approach became a lot of fun.

The shows are an eclectic mix of Nine Inch Nails songs, from the early days to the present. Occasionally, they'll throw in songs that NIN has rarely, if ever, performed live. Other times, they'll take a set of songs "in a weird direction," slowing them down or changing them almost entirely.

That's important, because it can be easy to get bored playing the same songs the same way for hundreds of shows, North said.

The next step for Nine Inch Nails is anybody's guess, but North said Reznor seems to be going through an especially creative phase right now. Reznor is "in his own head" much of the time, apparently working out new material, North said.

Another album is likely in the works.

"This band hasn't been this active in over 10 years," North said. "I'm sure this record is gonna happen in a year, so this will be the first time Nine Inch Nails has ever put out records back-to-back this quick, and has consistently toured. We've toured for a year, and we're not gonna stop. ... It's new territory for this band, to have a real band that is looked at as a unit."

diff one:Question: How's the tour going?

Aaron North: It's going okay. What else would I be doing, anyway? Delivering pizzas or something.

Q: Did you have to audition?

AN: I kind of knew the dudes. It was not a cattle call. They called and invited me to jam with them. I knew Trent (Reznor) from around town. I knew him socially. A mutual friend told Trent that I had quit my band.

Q: Did you click right away?

AN: I don't think I knew right away. When we started playing together, it was obvious that it was going to work. Maybe not to me, but to them.

I didn't really know or care what they were looking for when I went in. I had just quit my other band (The Icarus Line), which I had been in for six years. It sounded like fun to go and play some Nine Inch Nails for a day.

Q: Were you a fan of the group?

AN: I was a fan. Yeah, definitely, I liked the band.

When I was younger, the first things I heard that I liked when I was 11 or 12 kind of scared me.

A couple of years later, I was more into punk and I was kind of boycotting any bands that got on MTV.

But on "March of the Pigs," something the guitarist did sounded like (expletive) crazy, distorted and wild.

It's fun for me now to be playing certain songs and look over and go, "Wow, I'm playing songs that I saw on TV when I was 12 years old."

Q: Do you and Trent have similar styles?

AN: My approach is a lot different than Trent's. My approach is I'm coming from a place where it's okay to take chances or maybe it's a good thing to fall on your face.

To me, that's what makes playing live interesting. I like mistakes. It gives things character.

Q: Have you learned a lot from Trent?

AN: I've never seen anybody who can multitask like Trent.

He's got 800 million things going on and he does the majority really well. Trent will take on so many different elements of the show.

He'll be on the phone going over editing the video, the artwork for the new single, and the layout for the Web site all at the same time. If it was me, I would freak out.

Q: Do you have a favorite moment from onstage?

AN: My favorite moment from last year was when we played Mexico City and there were 15,000 people in the arena and they took their lighters and flicked them in time with the music. The people in the front heard the music a split-second before everyone else, so there was a delay going to the back, so it became a wave of light from the front to the back.

diff one:Touring sounds like nonstop fun. And for the most part, it is.

But being on the road for more than a year can also get a little tedious.

Nine Inch Nails guitarist Aaron North doesn't like being bored, which is why he welcomes some of the changes on this leg of the Nine Inch Nails tour.

"We're doing some different songs on this tour that we haven't done before," North said in a telephone interview from Charlotte, N.C. "The production of the tour is a little different and we're changing the set list up. We're playing songs that we haven't played before, songs that maybe Nine Inch Nails hasn't played live before."

Nine Inch Nails will perform Thursday at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 E. Paisano. Nine Inch Nails last played in El Paso in 1994.

North said the band knows about 50 songs, but he also knows songs such as "Closer," "Hurt," "Head Like a Hole" and "Terrible Lie" have to be played at every gig otherwise fans may get mad.

"A few of the songs we're just doing at sound check," North said. "One of the songs I really like to play is called 'Last.' I like it because that's just a song that has never been played live by the band before and it's fun to play."

When North joined Nine Inch Nails last year he was met with the unexpected news that the band's founder Trent Reznor wanted his old material re-worked for the tour.

"It's not something I expected to happen," North said. "It was good to see from the beginning that was something Trent was open to do. It would have been lazy and really easy for him to just say 'Well, this is how the song has been played for 16 years, that's the way it needs to stay.' It was cool to see he was kind of bored by a lot of the songs which I think anybody would be after playing them that long."

New songs from the recent Nine Inch Nails album "With Teeth" also were approached differently.

"We learned how to play them one way in the beginning," North said. "Some of the songs on the last Nine Inch Nails record sounded better to us played differently."

As the tour continues, North is thinking of ways to keep things interesting.

"When you're doing these tours where the arenas all look the same every night and the stage is the exact same setup and you look out and there are kids who have been following the band for weeks, it starts to get like a 'Ground Hog Day'-type of situation and you see the same people," North said. "Anything to change it up for us is the best. Any variety is what makes things interesting. If people want to see a different show with different kind of music they should come to the show. We're not gearing it to cater to everybody. I'm sure we'll do whatever we can do to entertain. Light ourselves on fire, stand on our heads."

And North will find a way to keep things interesting -- he always has.

When North was with his previous band Icarus Line in 2002, he broke into a case at their Hard Rock Cafe gig and tried to play Stevie Ray Vaughn's guitar.

"For a while I was getting a lot of death threats," North said. "It's slowed to a crawl compared to what it was before."

Aarons questions in spiral chat:
dabucholtz: Aaron, have you broken any bones this tour?
aaron_north: naw brah... first show is tonight... the only thing i've broken so far is a lot of wind backstage

pixiesaresublime: Aaron which stooges guitarist do you like better?
aaron_north: Ron Asheton... way better than that other goofball who wasn't technically in "the stooges", but "iggy and the stooges", which is 2 totally different bands bro-hammer

r_martinez: To Mr. North I just want to thank you for reminding TR on how he used to be onstage tearing shit up!!! Been a fan since 90? and that?s what made me go nuts during the show?.its like you transfer energy to us when that occurs from that?so please break more shit?
aaron_north: ?.. right on duder... trent still goes off... if he didn't, i wouldnt hafta keep sewing up all the broken clothes from when he throws my scrawny ass around every night. I like trains and muffins

capricorn: To Aaron North ? Why you guys on BuddyHead voted Trapped In the Closet in the Best List of 2005? For real I don?t buy that shit of enthralled with the lunacy, unless you are drunk, cause I saw it in a sadomasochist moment and still wanna to forget the shit voice of R Kelly. Even if you are joking, this guy should be on ?get lost? list joining that fucktard Chris Corne
aaron_north: ll. Cos its fuckin amazing entertainment dude! Watch the whole thing. Funny enough, Jeordie, Alessandro, and Josh ran into him this morning in Chicago in a pancake house. No shit. I was bummed i wasn't there. Those pussies didn't even get pictures with him or anything. They blew it.

Wild_Thing: Aaron: Has Jimi Hendrix influenced your performance style?
aaron_north: Not really... that dude is way too good to even figure out what the fuck is happening when he plays... I suppose indirectly, cos he just goes balls out and does what he wants to... but yer not gonna see me lighting my guitar on fire while I'm sporting a fringed tye-dyed vest anytime soon

Russhudson: For Aaron: In the current repetoire, what songs have been the most fun in terms of trying different sounds, effects, approaches to your playing?
aaron_north: "With Teeth", "Please" and "The Big Comedown"... all are very fun to play as well as challenging to create different sounds for.

annala6842: Will there be backstage passes for the concert at the john labbats centre? I've always wanted to get to meet you guys, and I know my boyfriend would love it, if there will be, how would I go about getting two of them? one for myself and my boyfriend. Thank you very much for your time, I hope I havent troubled you with my question.
aaron_north: Easy... yer boyfriend just has to let me blow him

spiral_eyes: Question for Josh: Which member of NIN would you least like to see naked?
josh_freese: I've always been a little bit curious about Aaron.

pragmatica: Aaron: What do you plan on doing once the touring is over? Any side projects, etc?
aaron_north: I'm sure I'll put something together once I have time... so far nin and buddyhead stuff have consumed all my free time over the past year.

sharkdiver: Josh: Are you still being weird about it?
josh_freese: Fuck you

sharkdiver: Aaron: what is the most embarassing band you would admit to liking?
aaron_north: I'm not embarrassed about liking anything. Music is made to be liked. If it's shitty, I just don't listen to it. I'm sure I like a lot of stuff you wouldn't think is "cool"... simon & garfunkel, neil diamond, etc etc

chappu: Band minus Trent: what were your initial thoughts to NIN prior to joining the band?
aaron_north: I thought I'd hafta shave my eyebrows, wear dog collars, mesh tank tops, and black bicycle shorts on stage. i was actually kinda bummed when i showed up for practice the first day dressed like that, and everybody was looking at me weird.

odysseyuwrf: Band: How do you feel about spending part of your Valentine's Day with your fans?
aaron_north: wuddya talkin about? i'm gonna spend the night after the show licking chocolate syrup off josh's nipples.

april: AARON: What is your favorite thing for breakfast?
aaron_north: pralines and DICK

ileesia: to all----who would you like to see win in a rumble...Robert Smith (from the Cure) or Morrissey, and why?
aaron_north: morrissey would totally roll that fat fucker... but i like both those guys. total cat fight.

ItDestroysMe: Aaron, since you live in LA, do you know Katie hatie?
aaron_north: naw brah

josh_freese: NIN!

smllyjlly: what do you think that it takes for a band starting out to make it in the business right now short of being a souless puppet
aaron_north: well... yer never gonna "make it" if you look at making and playing music as a business. if you start playing music to make money, yer gonna quit pretty quick, cos its a long and hard road until you ever see any miniscule amount of success... people that "make it" do so because they stick with it for a long time cos there's nothing else they'd rather do, and prefer sleeping on floors and touring in vans and eating 7-11 burritos to staying home and working a job that guarantees "stability".

pixiesaresublime: Aaron analog or digital delay? Both?
aaron_north: both

Impure: Aaron, when you don't have a guitar in your hands do you enjoy playing air guitar?
aaron_north: no. air bass. maybe air sax. never air guitar. NEVER.

agentmrt: Aaron, did you get the tattoo of Jerome?s name removed from your ass cheek? If so, will Josh?s name be on the other cheek
aaron_north: ? no... josh's name is just above my left nipple.

shagg187: My Question is for Aaron? What influenced you in making that memorable ?look? in the current band photo? Even Trent is looking at you with a ?what the fuck? look and Josh is all ?I don?t want to look there or else it will be obv
aaron_north: ious.? i guess i was a little grumpy about having to be awake in the a.m.

Mr_selfdestruct9: This Question is for Aaron, What were the challenges of switching from a Punk rock style band, to a different setting that is Nine Inch Nails?
aaron_north: None. I always kinda thought Nine Inch Nails was punk anyway. Nine Inch Nails is certainly a lot more "punk rock" ethically and stylistically than all of these Fallout Boy, Good Charlotte or whatever poser dipshit bands are on mtv all day waving the punk rock flag anyway. These types of bands have bastardized a term that meant something to an older generation, and it's confused younger kids. Growing up, punk to me meant originality and playing by your own rules. That's what Nine Inch Nails is all about.

bleed: Aaron have you seen Brokeback mountain?
aaron_north: No, but all of my friends keep saying they see Trent coming out of that movie by himself... i dunno.

Mr_selfdestruct9: This question is for Aaron. What made you decided to audition for NIN?
aaron_north: i figured the new influx of cash would help me add onto my gonzo horse porn collection.

polly: Aaron-You hate old people as do I. Will you come to Tucson to kill them for me?
aaron_north: i was joking dude. but... i'll do it anyway, cos my hatred towards arizonians even outweighs my hatred for old people.

everythingiscold: Aaron: I made a Nine Inch Nails guitar, if I give it to you in Lexington would you play it!??
aaron_north: whats a nine inch nails guitar dude? is it in the shape of the logo or something? like the jack daniels bass michael anthony plays or something?

RobinTMP: Just for the record, whose idea was it to take that picture with Meg White and post it on nin.com, resulting in thousands of fans damn near shitting themselves at the thought that she might be the new drummer? (You HAD to know people were going to take it that way... *grin*)
aaron_north: i guess that was my idea... yeah... just thought it'd be funny to see you dudes all trip over your own boners to speculate about it on the internet first... which is what happened. yahhhh.

fragile: aaron; the sex pistols or the ramones?
aaron_north: the damned

josh_freese: AAAaahaaaaa!

josh_freese: Brokeback!!

Trent_reznor: with that... see you later.

rob_sheridan: That's it for tonight's chat, thanks for coming. A transcript will be posted on The Spiral shortly.

josh_freese: BrokeBack!!!

josh_freese: Let's do this! 2006 up in this motherfucker!

aaron_north: LATER MASTERBATERS

josh_freese: last one!! yahoooooo!

josh_freese: CLOSING TIME!

josh_freese: Closing time!!

rob_sheridan: Here we go again...

josh_freese: CLOSINT TIMELS

josh_freese: Clostinj TIsmee!!

rob_sheridan: I'm leaving. Have fun Josh.

josh_freese: aaaahaaaaaaa!!!!

josh_freese: cloujsdf toiojimmeee

josh_freese: E=mc hammer 2

josh_freese: no what?

josh_freese: i mean....NOW WHAT?

All of Aarons questions are here
a few of josh's cause hes a funny guy
and the ending which was funny too
also if trent stumbles upon this i got the from echoing the sound so dont sue me or anything

Aaron North Review of Yamaha's SA503TVL

Why did you choose the SA503TVL?
Cos Troy Van Leeuwen is the sexiest man in rock n' roll, and I wanna blow him and be him. If I can't be him, at least I can get as close as possible by playing his guitar! Well, I can't really play very well, but this thing looks so fucking cool when it's strapped on, nobody really notices that anyway. Looking cool is what rock n' roll is really all about.

How long have you used the SA503TVL?
A few weeks now. I practice on it EVERY DAY! Pretty soon I'll be able to play the "Smoke On The Water" riff, and strum up AND down.

What do you like about the construction of the guitar? How is the quality?
Looks good to me! It's a lot like most of the men in my life. Big and black!

What features do you like the most?
I dunno. Like I said, I don't know much about the "technical" side of these things. I couldn't tell ya much about how it "plays", but I wear it pretty good.

When/where do you use it?
On tour across the world duder! I've been playing it a lot on that "fuck you like an animal" song.

Who would be the best customer, e.g. a beginner, immediate user, advanced user, or any one? Why?
Hmmm. I dunno. Everybody! I was lucky enough to be asked by the Queens of the Stone Age blokes to play guitar with them on a few shows, and when I had to play all those crazy songs where ya gotta be tuned down to Z, and use telephone cable gauge strings, I was super bummed I didn't have a guitar like this with a big, full sound... so I guess people who are into that?

Do you have any tips on how to best use the guitar? Just make sure the strap is real low. Nobody likes a dorkus malorkus who wears the fuckin' thing like a violin.

How's the shape of the neck?
Long... hard... feels good in my hand!

Do you like the sound of the pickups on the SA503TVL? Sure thing duder! P-90's bitch! I used to think that was a fighter airplane model or something, but now i know thanks to Troy what it's all about!

Do you like the appearance / finish of the SA503TVL? Dude, if it wasn't cool looking, Troy wouldn't be playing em. We're talking about a guy who can make even the hippest Hollywood types look like dog food after he walks into a room.

Does it have a good dirty sound?
Dirty sound?! Queens of the Stone Age Bitch! NIN bitch!

Does it have a good clean sound?
Rock n' roll isn't supposed to be clean.

Does the SA503TVL stay in tune well?
I don't know how to tune a guitar. That's what techs are for dude!

Does it have a good overall weight and balance?
Shit yeah. I can do all my ninja jumpkicks and not throw out my hip with this guy strapped on.

If you were a dealer trying to sell the SA503TVL, what would you tell a potential buyer? Queens of the Stone Age Bitch! NIN bitch!

We initially started Buddyhead in the summer of 1998 because we were really bored... And also because we felt there were a slew of bands and artists that deserved greater attention than they were receiving. The idea was to illuminate good art and make ourselves laugh once in a while too. Cuz what's the point in anything if you aren't having a good time? The record label evolved as an extension of that same spirit that was on the website, to actually release the music we thought deserved attention and that nobody else would touch anyway. We are with Redeye Distrobution now, they kick ass. You can also buy our stuff on itunes or from our online store by clicking here. We will have a new record label site up very very soon. Love, Buddyhead
