We all know it's true. Paris sucks. The people are rude, the streets are dirty, everything is expensive..I mean we're talking about a city where there are two or three times as many visitors every year than there are inhabitants. The town is absolutely vegetarian unfriendly and the beer is way over-priced, just like everything else. You will most likely be pick-pocketed, get lost in the seedy red-light district, and be totally disappointed by the Mona Lisa. Everyone there speaks English, but is very very cranky about it. When you try to speak French to them, they just roll their eyes and start speaking English. Really, who gives a shit about Paris?

Belgium, on the other hand, with Antwerpen in particular is a paradise. Tiny shops with friendly people who don't mind speaking English (and everyone does very well). Delicious beer for very cheap. Delicious vegetarian food eveywhere. Nice hostels that are very affordable and serve good breakfasts. Beautiful churches with random bells at random times. No reverence for religious figures. Lots of people on bicycles who are courteous. Art deco houses. Lovely lovely lovely. Buses and trams that run until the late night. Everything within walking distance. Folding bikes. Underground tunnels. The most beautiful toilet in the world. Fake Mexican food. Moustaches. Diamonds. Waffles. Belgian fries. Folk bars. Rock clubs. No house music. Paradise.

SO! In short, Paris sucks and Belgium beats all.
