Congrulations to D'Brickashaw for making helping his team reach the MCS Bowl game in Boise, Idaho and making All-ACC honors. Ferguson, UVa's first all-conference tackle in six years, has started every game of his career (38), the longest streak by a UVa left tackle since All-American Jim Dombrowski started a record 45 straight games. He earned ACC Offensive Lineman of the Week honors on Oct. 11 following his play in the win over Clemson. Virginia travels to Boise, Idaho, to face Fresno State in the MPC Computers Bowl on Dec. 27.
Congrulations to Jerry Mackey, he leads his team in total tackles and tied 56 solo tackles and total 97 and had 1 forced fumbled. The Orange will represent the BIG EAST Conference in the 2004 Champs Sports Bowl on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 in the Florida Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Fla. Syracuse (6-5) will face Georgia Tech (6-5) of the ACC. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m. The game will be televised nationally on ESPN.
Congrulations to Chimezie Okobi, Chim made first team defensive Line with ALL-NEC honors. He was second on the team with 59 stops, 7.0 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Congrulations to Lennox Norville for being named NJCAA Honorable Mention All-Americans. Norville, a freshmen running back, rushed for 866 yards and six touchdowns on 114 carries (7.6 average) this season. Four times this season (Stevens Tech, Dean College, Erie CC, & Morrisville State), Norville rushed for over 100 yards. He also caught 21 passes for 205 yards (9.8 average) and two touchdowns. On special teams, Norville blocked two kicks and returned a blocked punt 36 yards for a touchdown.
Congrulations to Taibika Hickson, Taibika won NE-10 Offensive Lineman of the Year and Lead his team to the NCAA First Round Playoffs.
