Group Leader:

The BATTLECRY Campaign is a multi-faceted strategy designed to bring deep, lasting change in the lives of millions of teens. But it will take all of us parents, business people, church leaders, youth workers, government officials, factory workers, musicians, filmmakers, teachers, etc. to rescue a generation. Working with key partners, we will work to provide the strategy, training, tools, resources and events to reach a generation of young people and lead them down a path of spiritual transformation.

A Paradigm for Transforming Lives For going on 20 years, Teen Mania has seen God use a simple, biblical paradigm to transform young lives. This four-part model comprises the core of the BattleCry strategy.

1. We must capture the hearts of young people. We must reach them at the heart level. This has been the essence of Teen Mania's work to provoke a passionate response to God. This is why we hold large high-impact events. This is why youth workers and parents must be trained and equipped. This is why churches must adapt their methods to appeal to a new generation.

2. Once a young person's heart has been captured by God, the journey has just begun. To see true transformation, we must help young people get deeply rooted in the foundations of the faith. This is the only way they will stay strong in the midst of the ravages of culture or the godless philosophies of their high schools and universities. They need to discover truth for themselves not just passively accept what has been preached to them or passed down from their parents. This is why they need tools, as well as leaders to instruct and guide them.

3. Supportive relationships are vital. Young people need to have community fellowship and accountability. But they also need to feel part of something bigger than themselves something substantive. All of our efforts must direct young people back to their family and their local church, where there are people they can talk to and pray with genuine friendships. And teens also need to feel a part of a family of believers in their city or town, hence the need for local youth group networking, campus groups and community outreaches. This is true community.

4. Each of the three points above are critical, but there is one other essential ingredient. No life can meet its true potential without a sense of mission an understanding that each of us is here on this earth for a purpose. Contrary to popular opinion, young people are hungry to do something to make their lives count, even at a young age. Providing opportunities for them to reach out and touch lives is important to their spiritual vitality.

Teenagers, you are the warriors in this battle. You have the great ability to uniquely influence the future of your own generation. Please engage right now in the fight to save your friends.
