Group Leader:

deadCENTER Film Festival, now in its sixth year, was founded by Justan and Jayson Floyd in 2001. The ongoing mission of the festival is to bring independent films to Oklahoma City. As a result, the festival attracts many filmmakers and festival attendees from around the nation who participate in an educational and dynamic forum. Designed to inspire growth in the local film industry and energize visiting film professionals, the deadCENTER Film Festival will continue to encourage the film arts through screenings, discussions, competition, special events, panels, and focused programming.

Why the name deadCENTER?
The name "deadCENTER" refers to the geographical location of Oklahoma City within the continental United States. Now that we've moved downtown...we're at the center of everything!

This year's festival will occur June 7-11 in downtown Oklahoma City. Over 100 films will be shown at eight different screening locations, including the Oklahoma City Musuem of Art, Stage Center, the IAO Gallery, Harkins Bricktown Cinema, the Untitled ArtSpace, Kerr Park, and the downtown Oklahoma City Library. A myriad of Oklahoma films will be shown, as well many other films from various locations around the globe. A "Kid's Fest" and "Apple Pie Cinema" wil allow fun for the whole family, while "Midnight Shorts" will showcase edgy, alternative films. Interested? Email us for ticket information at mail@deadcenterfilm.org or message us here on myspace.
