°C-ute was officially announced in June 2005 although rumors about this new group had leaked earlier before this.

°C-ute is another subgroup from Hello! Project Kids that aren't present in the active Berryz Koubou group. Originally announced with 7 members but in 2006 they added Arihara Kanna (from Tomoiki and Hello! Project Eggs) to the group making a total of 8.

For a while °C-ute was performing "Wakkyanai (Z)" at original events and concerts but did not released any singles up until in the May 2006. They finally announced/released several 'indie' singles (available at concerts, Hello! Project stores and fanclub related events only) and still to this day have any "official" bigger debut besides to target Hello! Project audience.
