In 2006, cyclists/skaters in the UK will participate in the third worldwide naked ride/skate protest against oil dependency. We will celebrate the power and individuality of our own bodies through this ride.

The first World Naked Bike Ride was held on 12 June 2004. The largest UK rides in 2004 were in Edinburgh (60-70 cyclists) and London (58 cyclists and a few skaters). The smallest UK ride was in Sussex where two nude riders made their cheeky protest. Although the Edinburgh police tried to stop people from riding fully nude, the London police didn't harrass any riders. There were no arrests, and the public reacted with delight and amusement. At the Hyde Park ride, we inspired nearly a dozen clothed cyclists to disrobe spontaneously and join our leisurely nude ride.

The second World Naked Bike Ride was held on 11 June 2005. There was a really huge London ride (with 250 riders) and a small ride in Bath (with 7 brave riders). The report from the London ride is available here.

The third ride will occur on Saturday 10th of June 2006, and we will be riding again in several UK locations. Please join the ride nearest to you. You don't actually have to go nude, just go as bare as you dare, and travel by bicycle or rollerblades. It's free, and its fun!
