We're from the best place on earth. Detroit and the metro area is a major region in the United States with unique style and cultural significance. It is up to us to keep it that way. In recent times I've heard many throughout metro Detroit encouraging others to move out. I've heard parents tell their children to other areas of the country instead of pursuing a career in Michigan. Although I am moving back to Detroit in June 2007, I cannot pretend that I have not also subscribed to this ideology as I presently attend school in Chicago. We are only creating a self-fulfilling prophecy. It is our job to revitalize the attitudes of our own citizens, the political, economic and social atmosphere, and the perceptions of outsiders. If we create a DETROIT ARMY consisting of individuals who love Detroit and all it has to offer, we can make Detroit the proud, successful, powerful, influential, and significant metropolis that we all know it is.
