Does seeing a Finn's Irish Pub bring a smile on your face? Always wanted to live in Dublin and see the four green fields? Is your heart longing to see the white city of the north?

Met a girl from the North Country that you somehow can't forget? Or did you bump into one of those "crazy-but-disarmingly-warm" Irishmen on their travels, and have had a soft spot in your heart for all the things Irish ever since?

A fan of Irish music? A fan of Finnish music? Everyone knows St. Patrick's Day, but have you heard of St. Urho's Day?

The Finns and the Irish share a lot more than their notorious love for drink. Both countries share the ideals of politics neutrality (at least in theory), have female presidents, and their national identities have been shaped in the shadows of an overpowering neighbour. Possibly because of this, a gentle, melancholic undertone runs deeps in both cultures. The taciturn Finns and the cheerful Irish seem to share a certain perseverance (in Finnish, sisu) and strength of character, which, at its best, leads to mutual respect.

Whether it was your love of the Finnish weather or the Irish politics that brought you here, we hope you enjoy the company.
