"Dragon Ball Online: A Crack in Time" is now taking applications for beta testers on it's site. They will be taking application applications through September 15th. The winners will be announced on September 16th. You must be at least 15 years old to apply.

I know I will not be applying because it requires you to put in your social security number. >.< I will just wait until the English version comes out. Besides the Korean servers will probably lag like hell for us over here.

Several new game play video has been posted on the site. These videos show some of the areas you will visit, combat, and just the general game itself.

This "what if" scenario should give you Broly fans and haters something to discuss. Since they are giving this "what if" scenario to Broly. I think Vegeta deserves a "what if" SSj3 scenario too!

Dragon Box Sets Contain English Dub & All 13 Movies
Update 7/20/09

The other day I was unsure of whether it would just be Japanese with English subtitles or have the English dub. FUNimation has confirmed they will have the English dub on it too. Also, they will be releasing all 13 movies with these sets. Nothing has been said about the 2 TV Specials at this point.

The following is a quote from FUNimation's official site:

"FUNimation Entertainment Announces First U.S. Release of Dragon Box Produced From THE Original Dragon Ball Z Masters, Available on DVD in November

Flower Mound, TX – July 18, 2009 - FUNimation Entertainment, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Navarre Corporation, today announces that it has acquired the original masters for the entire Dragon Ball Z anime series, episodes and films, and will release all as the Dragon Box for the first time in the U.S. The first of seven Dragon Boxes will be available at major retailers nationwide this Fall.

The Dragon Box will be produced from the original Dragon Box masters after a frame by frame restoration and will span the entire 291 episode television series and all 13 of its movies.

This definitive DVD box release begins with Dragon Box One which includes the first 42 episodes, uncut, on 6 discs.

The Dragon Box releases will feature an aspect ratio of 4:3, the original Japanese audio (with options for an English track or English subtitles), the original episode previews, complete opening and closing credits and a collector's booklet.

Dragon Box One will be available at major retailers nationwide on November 10, 2009 and will have an SRP of $79.98."

Dragon Box Sets
Update 7/19/09

FUNimation's official YouTube channel has posted a video up of the FUNimation announcements at Otakon. The Dragon Box sets will have a frame by frame restoration and be released in 4:3 aspect ratio. FUNimation released the Dragon Ball Z Season Sets in 16:9 ratio. So fans will be happy that were disappointed with the frame ratio of the other Dragon Ball Z Season Sets. They will be releasing all 291 episodes on 7 sets. The episodes will be uncut & unedited. Dragon Box Sets will have the Japanese audio tracks and English subtitles. There has been nothing confirmed whether or not they will have the English dub on these box sets. After all, he did state it was for the "hardcore" fan and not the casual ones. The first set will contain 42 episodes & and an 80 page hardcover book. Dragon Box Set 1 has a release date of November 10, 2009 with a retail price of $79.98.

He starts getting into the Dragon Box Sets at roughly 9 minutes into the video

Dragon Ball Live Action Sequel Confirmed

James Marsters confirmed in an interview that there will a sequel to "Dragon Ball: Evolution. You can read the whole interview .

I just finished a project for the 40th anniversary for the moon landing. I played one of the three astronauts. That was a big challenge to play someone how is still alive. But it’s been a great and exhausting shoot. Not many people can imagine that this expedition must have been hell for these three guys: uncomfortable and very dangerous.

In Spring and Summer, I’m on tour in Europe. Check for dates and ticket on www.jamesmarsters.com. And then we’ll start shooting the second Dragonball movie. (grins) I’ve just heard that I can actually tell that there is going to be a sequel.

"Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo"
Update 5/26/09

The new Dragon Ball video game released for the Nintendo Wii will be called "Dragon Ball: Revenge of King Piccolo". It has been announced for a European launch this autumn. I would assume that it would be released in the US around this time too. I think it is good they are making games that just aren’t based on Dragon Ball Z anymore. Hopefully, we will get to see some more Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball GT games in the future. :)

Update 5/23/09

"Dragon Ball: Tenka-ichi Dai-Bôken"

"Dragon Ball: Tenka-ichi Dai-Bôken" is an action adventure game that will be released only on the Nintendo Wii. Yes, you heard it right. "Dragon Ball: Tenka-ichi Dai-Bôken" takes place in the Dragon Ball time. This means no Dragon Ball Z/GT in this Game You can view several in game clips on the opening trailer up at its official site.

"Dragon Ball: Raging Blast"

"Dragon Ball: Raging Blast" is a fighting game that will be released on the Playstation 3 & XBox360. As of right now it appears it has only shown characters in the Dragon Ball Z time line. By the opening trailer on it's official site it appears that it will have a "fighting style" similar to the Tenkaichi Budokai games.

Dragon Ball Evolution Run Time & Online Game
Update 3/5/09

DBthemovie.com has posted up the run time for "Dragon Ball: Evolution". It will have a running time of 89 minutes. To me this is a major bummer. I feel that the top movies each year are close to 2 hours or slightly over.

A "Dragon Ball: Evolution" online card game is already up. You can play it here. Hopefully this will keep you occupied until the movie comes out.

Dragon Ball Kai Commercial
3/3/09

The HD version of Dragon Ball Z will be called Dragon Ball Kai. It will closely follow the manga WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW PARTS. While I am a bit excited for this, it is a bit of a let down at the same time. Since Dragon Ball Kai will only span roughly 1/3 the length of the Dragon Ball Z anime. Though I think it is great for the Dragon Ball universe and will bring in more fans. It just goes to show how popular Dragon Ball Z is. How many other animes get remade to HD.

Below is the commercial for Dragon Ball Kai:

Akira Toriyama is looking forward to "Dragon Ball: Evolution".
Update 2/9/09

Anime New Network translates a written comment Akira Toriyama prefaced the trailer on Oricon entertainment news with.

As the original creator, I had a feeling of "Huh?" upon seeing the screenplay and the character designs, but the director, all the actors, the staff, and the rest are nothing but "ultra" high-caliber people. Maybe the right way for me and all the fans to appreciate it is as a New Dragonball of a different dimension. Perhaps, this might become a great masterpiece of power! Hey, I look forward to it!!

Oozaru May Have A Red-Orange Eye
Update 2/5/09

DBTheMovie.com has posted up a new teaser trailer that came on a Japanese news program. You will notice that it looks very similar to the French trailer I made a thread on a couple days ago. However, there are 2 distinct differences. First off, this one is in English. xD The second reason(and the only reason I am posting this) is because the possible Oozaru is shown with a red-orange eye in this trailer. Personally, I think this looks much better than the blue eye we saw before.
