Dennis John Kucinich is a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives, for the 10th District of Ohio. He also co-chaired the Congressional Progressive Caucus, and is a self-described "Wellstone Democrat." Dennis has also been praised as "a genuine progressive" by Ralph Nader.

Kucinich is a passionate global environmentalist. He has been honored by Public Citizen, the Sierra Club, Friends of the Earth, and the League of Conservation Voters. Kucinich is considered a one of the leading politicians for clean air, clean water, and an unspoiled earth. Kucinich petitions for America to lead the way toward a sustainable, shared stewardship of the planet through carbon reduction, and investment in alternative energy technologies. Kucinich not only believes in sustainability, he practices it; Congressman Kucinich is one of the only vegans in Congress, a dietary decision he credits not only with improving his health, but in deepening his belief in the sacredness of all species.

Kucinich is one of the leading advocates for a national health care system. Kucinich is also a leading activist for fair trade--he is against the WTO and NAFTA. Kucinich wants everyone to make living wages, and to keep the American farmer.

Kucinich is outspokenly against the Patriot Act and the war in Iraq. He is considered a warrior for peace; he is an advocate of people's rights, supports same-sex marriage rights; and has lobbied for the development of a US Department of Peace. Kucinich was also the recipient of the 2003 Gandhi Peace Award.
