the new york correspondance school was created by Ray Johnson, who involved artists, dancers, musicians, poets, and anyone interested in creating, collaborating, and sharing mail art with friends and strangers alike through the mail.

this new school old school correspondance school group is a tribute. in the years of the internet, the postal system & regular ol mail has lost its popularity as a means of communication. this group is an attempt to re-introduce artists, dancers, musicians, poets and anyone interested in mail art to the physical world of communication.

the group leader will have a list of all members' addresses, and as a member of the group you agree to have your address shared with other members. members will chose any name off the list and mail them whatever theyd please, such as collages, clippings, photos, doodles, writings, recordings, ona nd on. once a member recieves an envelope, they can chose to add onto the creation inside and send it onwards to share with strangers or possibly even acquaintances, or they can keep it like a golden secret all to themselves.

this group is by member invite Only. you may invite your friends or strangers.

MEMBERS: if you want to be added to the address list and recieve a copy of the list you must take it upon yourself to send a message to the group moderator. if your address is not sent in and put on the list there is no point of being in the group. dont bother dog! getcho broke ass out.

ALSO. if you have friends who are not hip enough to be on the internet but are people with mailboxes and some heart send those addresses to the moderator & they will be added to the 'list'.

the whole 'list' thing will be compiled and distributed once there are a decent number of people in the 'group' who are cereal about doing this thing. a list was sent out awhile ago but a new one is being compiled with updates and additions. if you are new please please please send me your address and get in on the love! :)
