Group Leader:

The goal of this group is to change the mindset of believers so that they can more successfully help other Christians and better reach the lost by encouraging acceptance of different personalities and styles and discouraging legalism and judgemental attitudes. I am not saying accept religions and alternative lifestyles that are against the Bible (though we should try to reach those who are deceived by these things in a loving fashion), but rather developing the Christian mindset that Jesus originally intended for his followers to have. If Christians were to set aside the man made rules and ideas and look only at how Jesus treated people and thought of them, many more people would be open to their message. I know people who have been emotionally hurt and in turn hurt themselves, even considered suicide because people were to close-minded to see the beauty in their different personality and interests. I believe that the varying groups of people are amazing evidence of God's creativity. I think it is wonderful that God did not create a world full of robots who look and act the same and like the same things. He created people who are preppy and like pink and light colors and bubbly music, and on the other end, he created people who are punk or emo who like dark colors and weird hair and have a more unusual style. He created each individual the way they are and helped form the things that they like, and he sees them all as beautiful and valuable tools to be used in mighty ways. If Believers looked at things from God's prospective, we would realize that the color of our hair or the style of our clothes has no impact on our salvation, our daily relationship with the Savior, our prayer life, or our passions for reaching the lost.

1 Samual 16:7

"But the Lord Said to Samual, 'Don't judge by his appearance or height, for I rejected him. The Lord doesn't see things the way you see them. PEOPLE JUDGE BY THE OUTWARD APPEARANCE, BUT THE LORD LOOKS AT THE HEART'"

"Run from anything that stimulates youthful lusts. Instead pursue righteous living, faithfulness, love, and peace. ENJOY THE CAMPANIONSHIP OF THOSE WHO CALL ON THE LORD WITH PURE HEARTS. Again I say, DONT GET INVOLVED IN FOOLISH, IGNORANT ARGUMENTS THAT ONLY START FIGHTS."
2 Timothy 2:22-23

"My dear brothers and sisters, how can you claim to have faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ if you favor some people over others? For example, suppose someone comes in your meeting dressed in fancy clothes and expensive jewelery, and another comes in who is poor and dressed in dirty clothes. If you give special attention and a good seat to the rich person, but say to the poor person, 'You can stand over there, or else sit on the floor'-well, doesn't this discrimination show that your judgements are guided by evil motives? Listen to me, dear brothers and sisters. Hasn't God chosen the poor in this world to be rich in faith? Aren't they the ones who will inheret the Kingdom he promised to those who love him? But you dishonor the poor! Isn't it the rich who oppress you and drag you into court? Aren't they the ones who slander Jesus Christ, whose noble name you bear? Yes indeed, it is good to obey the royal law as found in the Scriptures: 'Love your neighbor as yourself' But if you favor some people over others, you are comitting a sin. You are guilty of breaking the law. There will be no mercy for those who have not shown mercy to others. But if you have been merciful, God will be merciful when He judges you."
James 2:1-9, 13
