Has someone wonderful touched your life, community, family or friends? If so, can you help Write About... to celebrate these inspirational people and, at the same time, contribute to a book that will support adult beginner readers.
This person could be a member of your family, a friend or colleague; a teacher, a nurse or doctor; someone in your local community or a public figure. This person may have demonstrated strong personal courage; a dedication to help others; or strong leadership. He/she may be someone you admire as great role model or someone who has in some way changed your life. Your writing, about how this person has inspired you, could inspire others.
I have never written anything before, where do I start?

Send us your story for consideration for publication
Email your story to writeabout@gatehousebooks.com. We will acknowledge receipt of your submission by return. A panel will read and evaluate all the entries and draw up a shortlist for publication as a collection of short stories. Published stories may be edited to fit space requirements, but we won’t change your sentiments.
Write About…Inspirational People is a writing project devised and set up through a partnership between publishers Gatehouse Media and a group of College lecturers and tutors. Gatehouse Media is a small publishing company which specialises in publishing books written by and for adults who are developing their literacy skills. By submitting writing to Write About... the writer consents to their work or extracts of their work being published by Write About... and Gatehouse Media. Copyright of a submission remains with the author, but Write About... and Gatehouse Media will have unrestricted rights to publish submitted entries in a range of printed, audio and digital media and on the internet including MySpace and websites operated by Write About... and Gatehouse Media
Entrants are not entitled to payment for their entries
No correspondence will be entered into concerning the panel's decision to publish
