Having this idea as a child, it only intensified as i grew older. This idea was a society that works together in all aspects of life and is completely powered using solar, wind, hydro, and hopefully even thermal renewable enrgies .
The plan here is to invite people with whatever expertise they can contribute to offer suggetions on how to make this civilization possible.
We are hoping that this group forum can begin to organize itself into a cohesive plan to reconstruct how we live our lives.
This idea resurfaced in an email conversation with a friend that I then posted in a blog that I posted below so you can get a better idea as to the meaning of this group forum.

People like to be different with their styles and fashions, their cars and homes, but it's these differences that set the standards for inequality, poverty and crime. It also has caused us to shun those people who are different or less fortunate than ourselves. Im convinced the only way that things are going to change is when the majority of these sleepwalkers wake up. We can only cause change as a People united against the wrongs being commited against us. When people realize how little material posessions actually mean and are tired of the rat race in our current economic system, working harder and harder for less and less, then they will all want to change. And the sad part is the whole Enron scandal wiped out peoples life savings and retirement, and sure people were mad, upset, suicidal, but the 'majority' still went to their jobs the next day. I live near a couple of GM plants and every year people get screwed by the company somehow. I think people are ready but like most everyone locked into that system are afraid to INITIATE the change. They don't want to loose their cars, homes, jobs. The problem is that people forgot how to take care of themselves and care for others, today we depend on the government way too much. This is the only way they could ever amass so much power, with OUR money and niavite. Anyway what is money? It's just another control over us.
Call me crazy, but I believe If enough people with similar interests in "real" freedom come together, we can purchase some land and invest in solar, wind and hopefully even hydro and thermal energies. And we're talking gradual here this wouldn't be any overnight utopia and hopefully the land will be on nuetral territory where we won't have to fear any 'waco' or 'iraq' incident. Any transports, cars ect, will be electric. People will be taught to grow and raise their own foods and everyone will eat. People will be taught how to build homes, furnished with solar and wind energy, and everyone will have shelter. People will be taught how to make clothes, and no one will be cold. People will be taught compassion and honesty very early in their lives so that these principles can then be taught to their children and humanity will grow with these principles. Ultimately, all people will have a role to play in this civilization, while some may seem to have none. There will be no money, only an abundance of giving from everyone. Of course we would need doctors and teachers and such, and I would hope that some scientists would even want to come with us to maintain and better the energy technologies. It would be a true democracy where the most knowledgeable people of any area would be chosen to essentially 'assist' those with lesser knowledge, not rule them. The law of attraction will take over when people realize the potential of such a peaceful civilization and begin migrating from their enslavement. If everyone is feed, clothed and has shelter with electricity, I believe their will be less crime. If someone is in need of any of these things, we simply give it to them. Everyone will be the police and Everyone will be the government. I want to believe that this idea can even evolve from land to our own island somewhere or both. People from this new civilization would bring dramatic change to the world, teaching others how to take care of themselves and helping the impoverished and elderly. But this can only work with enough people over a long enough period of time to rid ourselves from our present greedy state of mind, I'm guilty of it too, but I think it is worth a try. But honestly as much as my idea makes sense to me, it might sound like total hogwash to the next guy. So till then...

Here is the link to the construction process, i think it looks simple enough I would just need blueprints, thought you would be interested. This process can essentially be applied to a hydro turbine as well. This of course is if the land near running water.

Perhaps we should begin by researching the land for this new civilization, being a rare commodity in our modern time. Location is everything. If we locate potential sites (in nuetrality) we could find out costs and ways to raise the startup capitol. Hopefully this would be the last that any of it's new inhabitants would need what the rest of the world calls money.

I believe the law of attraction will bring us the many people of like minds we will need to get started. We the people should be the investors to this civilization for it will be our civilization to begin. The farmers and carpenters will be crucial teachers in the first steps of this civilization. We all will relearn how to take care of ouselves and each other rather than dependant on money and corrupt systems that sustain poverty and inequality.
Perhaps we can also agree upon some basic principle statements and start a "Group" to expand the conciousness of our ideas.
My friends I really have a good feeling about this.

yes i had a similar idea . thats what my soul tells me i should do thats what i talk to my friends about thats what we all want deep down .. i don't need a bunch of stuff i just want to feel fulfilled to have true purpose. we need to put the wheels in motion my friend we are quickly running out of time.Planning organization with the right cause i know i and we could be properly motivated to do it.i'm just so fed up with this current system it goes against the very fibre of my being. lets start planning researching i have afew ideas in that regard . we need to do it!!

Well i think we would have to start with a litttle activism i mean just watching america freedom to fascism yesterday got me angry enough to want to line up a protest or two.I am from canada and up here theres some fairly land in the interior of B.C its Canadas orchard country and theres tones of organic farms and hippy settlements in and around the are it would be perfect. we could also try and set something up in aplace like south america like peru or something but i think that would be quite a bit more difficult mind you but it definetly would be more of an adventure. I plan on visiting peru sometime this year to see macchu picchu and sacsayhuaman. i was also considering contacting blue morpho tours and going on an ayahuasca mission. so i could try and scout some stuff out while i'm down there.I'm sure it would be much less hassle to do it here in canada though. Theres already wind turbines just outside my city that run our light rail transit!!
when i was living in montreal i was getting the odd lesson from some oldschool hippies that were building solar trikes so i know abit about solar i think nanosolar would be the way to go in that regard.My father and i could build any homes or buildings he wouldn't be living with us(he's a jehovahs witness) but he framed houses for years. i have a friend in architecture that could possibly design us some units for a little cheaper. there is ways of getting ahold of organic farmers via the Net.
I know of a conference thats held each year( last year it was in colarado ) on greenbuilding i'm sure some of the seminars there would be beneficial... I have great ideas and they pop in ther often but i sometimes lack organizational ability once i have a mentally visible goal i can stay motivated. iwould be the idea/network/research guy until we had a concrete plan then i would be hands on. I have connections with Cribbers concrete workers and ive done that before i can assist in framing houses i would like to learn how to farm organically i have friends with hydroponic(wink wink) experience and ya it can be done. We need someone who is good at organization and planning to be on board like a project manager.. Once we have some concrete plans I can fill in the cracks with capital and people.

This is great friend. I agree we need a project coordinator. You sound much more knowledge than I, and I really appreciate the info. Like nano-solar sounds fantastic, even though I know nothing about this technology (yet, i will as soon as Im done here) I have a crazy imagination like roofs and buildings made of the stuff.
To be honest, I have absolutely no skills but I seem to have risidual like knowledge I am able to tap into because I pick up on things like I have done them before. I learn very quickly. I know that with your experience and expertise as well as others I have come accross this Idea will happen and will begin to come organized.
Here's how I propose we begin to organize...
I will start a group where every idea can have a central location to be viewed and critiqued. The experts from each of these fields (the most knowledgeable) could be the advisors for that particular field, and each could post blogs in their field. They can teach and assist others how to perform whatever specific jobs would be necissary to sustain and grow these communities. For instance, you could be a solar energy advisor as well as research until more knowledgeable persons could head this field. And as more people join the more knowledge will pour into this project.
I almost thought of Canada first but then thought of the North American Union plans, so Im not too sure how long we would be able to sustain our way of life there. Also thought of South America but theres the NAU and the unstable political environments down there. There do seem to be Some neutral areas but we would have to select them wisely. Did you check out the 'land' links in my blog? The Wikipedia has a list of neutral countries we can also choose from, although not too lengthy. Don't get me wrong because i have thought about Canada also so Im not ruling it out, I just think we should do a little more research.
Thank You for your correspondance. I am definitely interested in staying in touch so we can keep each other motivated, im afraid im somewhat similar and sometimes need outside motivation. I will favorite you so you are easier to find and keep you posted for the group... I have no idea what to call it.

Right on might i suggest basing this group on tribe.net as opposed to myspace so we're not being so monitored .. well i leave that up to you. we could have it on both sites and just cross link it. The north american union is a pretty ominous proposition we cannot just run away though . I will check the links on your page for neutral spots a change in scenery wouldnt be bad either you may be right. Already i feel this is progress the more like minded heads we get on this the better.
