Nyahbinghi Order





"The Nyahbinghi Order is the Divine force of truth and rights, the rallying call of Theocracy for humanity. I an’I assert that Iquality and Justice, which are the habitation of the Throne of the Almighty, stand for all who know that satan kingdom must fall. And I an’I render the judgmant of death to downpressors’, and everliving life to the righteous.

The NYAHBINGHI mean to bring universal co-operation, co-ordination and divine elements for all people which are of righteous good.It means that it is a full universal divine resurrection for all nations which are of righteous element. And that is the protest of full Nyahbinghi to I an’ I, and I an’ I continue to work it, in the fullness of its activity until peace will come to all nations upon earth in the power of JAH Ras Tafari as the co-ordinator of us all.

The true heart Iyahbinghi I put aside all things, whether funds are sufficient or not, to take up the banner of Ithiopia and reach Zion Gate. For nothing is more important to I an’I than when JAH RASTAFARI House of Judgmant Issembly is in motion.

Nyahbinghi congregation usually last from three to seven days during which time bredrin and dawtas gather to revive the Faith of Rastafari through communal activities eg. drumming, chanting of Ises, reasonings, herbs smoking, and dancing also known as groun’ation. It commemorates I an’I original tradition of coming together to chant down Babylon, and to give JAH glory. For one man alone is but a voice in the wilderness, but the Congregation of JAH is Omnipotent.

The chalice, the Rastafari ganja pipe, passes from bredrin’s hand around the altar table, ritually activating the symbols of earth, air, water, and fire, the primal forces of creation. Through the word, sound and power of the Nyahbinghi, the Faithful are united with the Godhead in mystic telepathy to chant down Babylon, to scourge the Earth of wickedness and restore the natural order of Creation to its original state of perfection."

The Nyahbinghi Man

The Nyahbinghi Man must abide by the laws of His Imperial Majesty.


It is also the sole duty of every Nyahbinghi Man to uphold the livity of Emperor Haile Selassie I. Thus, every Nyahbinghi Man must see to it that love and harmony be maintained at every Nyahbinghi gathering including House Reasoning.

During I-semble, the Nyahbinghi man is permitted to administrate around the altar or to prophecy before the congregation on His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, black history and other aspects of Rastafari Ivine livety. Nyahbinghi man must be skilled on the drums. He should be attired in modest and proper apparel and must uncover his head during an I-semble.

The Binghi man is expected to give his strength towards administering the Theocratic Government of Emperor Haile Selassie I. He may contribute in the governmental admininstration whereever he is capable of giving strength as seen fit by the House. He should also strive to improve his livity and skills/education so that he may be of greater strength to the administration of the Theocracy of Emperor Haile Selassie I.

He should abide with one queen as perfect example set by His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie I. He must be loyal to his queen at all times. If there is a misunderstanding between him and his queen, the matter should be brought before the Priest or the Council of Elders who will deal with the matter privately and constructively.

It is the duty of every Nyahbinghi Man to properly maintain his children and raise them in the order of righteousness. It is wrong for a Nyahbinghi man to trim and comb his children. This is an abomination.

The Nyahbinghi man must abstain from whoredom, adultery, fornication and all sinful acts that are an abomination to the Most High. He should keep his temple clean, refraining from use of flesh, drugs, alcohol and all harmful articles of food that are forbidden. The Nyahbinghi man is nonviolent, non-abusive and non- partisan. He must also be free from all criminal or corrupted activities as a true son of JAH Rastafari.


The Nyahbinghi Woman

The Nyahbinghi woman must abide by Emperor Haile Selassie I Ivine laws.

During I-semble, the Nyahbinghi women are responsible for the teaching of the children with special emphasis on the Amharic languages, His Imperial Majesty Emperor Haile Selassie I, Black History and other aspects of Rastafari Ivine livety.

She is not permitted to administrate around the altar or to prophecy before the congregation. A Nyahbinghi queen does not play the drums at an I-semble but does play the SHAKA (Shaker) or TIMBREL. She may participate in governmental administration, as in the taking of minutes, writing/reading of letters or any other works she is capable of doing, as seen by the House. She should also strive to improve her livity and skills/education so that she may be of greater strength to the Theocracy of Emperor Haile Selassie I and the family.

She must be attired in modest apparel at all times and must not wear pants or revealing garments. Her head must be covered during an I-semble or when congregating among the brethren or outside her gates.

As H.I.M. is the Head of the Nyahbinghi Order, the Nyahbinghi queen must recognise her kingman as her head. She must be loyal to her king head in all things concerning righteousness and at all times. If there is a misunderstanding between her and her king man, the matter should be brought before the priest or the Council of Elders who will deal with the matter privately and constructively.

During her monthly issue (period of 7 days), the Nyahbinghi queen does not attend, I-semble or congregate among the brethrens.

When the Nyahbinghi queen brings forth a prince, she should stay away from an I-semble for a period of 3 months. If she brings forth a princess, she should stay away for a period of 4 months.

The Nyahbinghi woman must abstain from whoredom, adultery, fornication and all sinful acts that are an abomination to the Most High. She should keep her temple clean, refraining from use of flesh, drugs, alcohol and all harmful articles of food that are forbidden. The wearing of jewelry is not forbidden but the piercing of the ears is against the will of JAH. The plaiting of locks is forbidden as it is written in the book of II Peter 3: 3, "Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair." The Nyahbinghi woman is nonviolent, non-abusive and non- partisan. She must also be free from all corruption as a true daughter of JAH Rastafari.

The Nyahbinghi Creed is opened with the reciting of the following Psalms to which all must stand with due respect to H.I.M. Emperor Selassie I. Psalms 1, 121, 122, 133, and 24 (followed by):
