Games Workshop consists of three main table-top strategy games. These are Warhammer 40,000, Warhammer Fantasy and the Lord of the Rings Strategy Battle Game. All three use minatures to move around a board using a tape measure and dice. Every model has its own statistic line with movement, weapon skill, ballistic skill, attacks, wounds, strength, toughness, initiative, leadership and armour save.
Warhammer Fantasy is the game of fantasy battles with dragons, ogres and magic etc. The two main armies are the Empire and Chaos. The Empire are the humans of the world and Chaos are the evil selfless ones that seek destruction of the known world. Other armies include Wood Elves, Dark Elves, High Elves, Lizardmen, Bretonians, Tomb Kings, Ogres, Orcs and Goblins, Beasts of Chaos, Skaven, Vampire Counts and Dwarfs.
Warhammer 40,000 is set 40,000 years into the future and has powerful laser guns, powerful armour and flying space ships and all the other futuristic things. The main army is Space Marines and they are the super humans standing 9ft
tall and have all super human enhancments. Evil Space Marines formed the heretic Chaos Space Marines and became the most powerful foes of the Space Marines. The leaders of the two armies fought it out till the death leaving the Emperor mortally wounded and Horus fatally wounded with the help of Sangunius who was the primarch of the Blood Angles Chapter. Other armies include Tyranids, Whitch Hunters, Daemonhunters, Orks, Eldar, Dark Eldar, Necrons, Imperial Guard and the Tau Empire.
The Lord of the Rings Strategy Ballte Game is set around the books by JRR Tolkien and the very popular movies. This is the easiest out of the three gaming systems to play and paint. This strategy game has all the characters from the books and the movies like Frodo, Sam, Merry and Pippin, Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli and Gandalf and the evil characters like Sauron, Saruman, Lurts, Gothmog and the Balrog. The armies include Orcs, Minas Tirith, Uruk-hai, Easterlings, Khandish, High Elves, Wood Elves, Harad, Dolamroth, Dwarfs and Rohan.
