I collect Did material and am working on a self-published book about them. For this purpose I need to collect as much as possible – live recordings, photos and flyers. If any of you have any of those I want you to treat me like an Incan potentate and lay it all at my feet. Do you think you can do that for me?

On top of that we can rant about their songs.

One album, five singles and a flexi. Not much to show for such remarkable music, and yet the fact they never released anything shite speaks mega-mountains for their reputation which borders on legendary (unless you speak with rational people). There are also unheard demos, including some amazing ones recently unearthed which may surface next year, available via the band's tribute site - http://www.thedancingdid.co.uk - as may a live special. They'll be lowkey releases for diehards but the big news is that the official retrospective CD on Cherry Red is coming out, any day now. At long last the world can bathe in the glory of their mentally polluted landscapes and rejoice while drowning. More rural wastrels than urban dogsbodies, these men could barely read a mission statement let alone issue one, so fuelled by cider and prone to exaggeration were they.

There is imagination here and there is quivering hostility. There is opinion masked by gentrification and sometimes outright, withering disdain, hitched to a skittering beat, a bow-legged bass rumble, and a zesty, coltish guitar and vocals that speak unto loose bowels. All is majestic, all is essential.

For now that is all, but it will never be all, any more than it will be forever now. (I can churn this drivel out forever.)
