The fourth in the chilling Hitman series featuring the cold-blooded killer Agent 47. Finding that members of his contract agency, The ICA, are now being quietly (and mortally) eliminated, Agent 47 suspects a larger organization is moving in. Fearing he may be the next target, he heads to America. His jobs now will pay in straight-up cash and how he spends the money will affect what weapons he has and what he does next. The developer added new gameplay systems, such as the concepts of notoriety and of blood money. The new Notoriety system means that anyone causing a bloodbath worthy of front page news is risking being recognised by civilians and guards in the future. Blood money lets players spend their earnings on fully customisable precision weapons and specialist equipment, or they can buy additional information upon the targets and location at hand, to aid a successful and professional hit.

GUIDE TO BEING A HITMAN.

Getting Started.

Before undertaking any contract ensure your body is in peak physical condition. You must be able to run, climb and scale walls to fulfill the most physical aspects of the job.
Procure the following weapons; the basic necessities, the tools of any hitman's trade:
Only purchase high quality, precision firearms, your life (and the end of your target's life) depends upon it. Ensure the components of these weapons can be customized to suit the job in hand and your own personal style. Use a trusted arms dealer, don't purchase weapons off the shelf, your anonymity is one of your most valuable assets.
Finally, find good representation. The more lucrative contracts will always be channeled through an agency.

A True Professional.

Preparation is the key to being a consummate professional hitman. Taking a chance and rushing headlong in to a hit will put your reputation, anonymity and survival at risk.
As a professional, its imperative to plan in advance and extract as much information upon the target as possible, whether working directly with a client or through the agency you use. Sometimes fees are associated with gathering extra information, but expect it to be accurate, and invaluable.
The information you require will often vary. Just knowing names and locations is not enough. Ask some basic questions each time you prepare.
Does the target have any health defects that could make your job easier? Do they live alone? Do they employ security? Does security sweep for weapons? Are there metal detectors? CCTV cameras? Where are the tapes held on site? Will there be a dog on the premises, is it likely to bark? What is the targets daily routine? What is the layout of their home?
Ensure you have an exit plan. Check maps, and if possible blueprints of the locations you are working in, these can be referred to if a pre chosen exit point becomes comprised.
And always expect the unexpected dealing with surprises is when your training will get you through.

Keeping Your Distance.

Committing the perfect crime means never getting caught that means never leaving anything that can link you to the target or the scene of the crime. A good hitman must be able to guarantee their client that this will indeed be the case before they undertake any work.
One way to achieve this is to create as much distance as possible between yourself and the target by opting for a long range weapon like a sniper rifle. Some clients may be uncomfortable with this approach simply because close kills enable the body to be checked allowing instant and absolute confirmation that the contract has been fulfilled.
However, if you have good experience and a good reputation as a sharp shooter then they may well be satisfied that you can achieve the desired result and may well waiver this part of the deal.
Stake out the area for a good vantage point i.e. a place where you are unlikely to be disturbed and have a clear shot. Then make yourself comfortable, it can take some time. Make sure you have an excellent scope and silencer to give yourself every chance of making a successful hit.

Protecting Your Identity.

As alluded to in an earlier chapter, one of the most valuable assets of the professional hitman is their anonymity. Keeping your cover and protecting your identity is imperative if you want to continue working, stay out of jail or worse.
Becoming a master at disguise is a simple and very effective way to keeping your real face out the papers. Using staff uniforms in particular, can also supply you with access to off limit areas. But always make sure that you have a clear understanding of exactly what the limitations of the disguises are. For instance, if you are wearing a particular workman's uniform and they are only allowed in certain areas you will still arouse suspicion and gain attention.
Another tip. If you are borrowing someones uniform always make sure that they are suitably indisposed (i.e. locked in conveniently placed containers) and thus unable to raise any alarms.

Up Close And Personal.

There will be times when you can find yourself in very close proximity to either your target or someone who could blow your cover. These unwelcome situations can happen to the best of hitmen however well they are prepared. To remedy these occasions, keep a close combat weapon to hand. The fibrewire is a most useful and easy to use tool of the trade if you can approach the target from behind. Poison administered with a syringe is another trouble-free and very discreet way of rendering your targets obsolete. Knives are also straightforward but can be messy.

Accidents.

The difference between a good hit and the perfect hit is whether or not it arouses suspicion. A practised Hitman will, over time, hone the skills and experience to engineer hits that look like innocent, but nevertheless fatal accidents. Pulling these off is primarily down to the thoroughness of your preparation and stake out work, knowing the movements of your targets and the layouts of their everyday surroundings will quickly indicate whether they can conveniently 'fall' from significant heights or get trapped beneath heavy objects. Once you have an eye for this, the possibilities are endless.

Hitman: Blood Money Set for Spring

Another game in the popular Hitman series.

Eidos has announced that it is currently working on another game in its popular Hitman series. Titled Hitman: Blood Money, the game is in development at Danish design house Io-Interactive for consoles and PC, with a tentative release date set for next spring.

First artwork for Hitman: Blood Money

Hitman: Blood Money turns the tables on lead character Agent 47, as he discovers a plot to eliminate his agency, the ICA, by killing the group's assassins one by one.

Gameplay gets a fresh twist by the new weapon acquisition system. Agent 47 will have to use money earned from missions to buy new weapons. Io-Interactive is hopeful that this will allow players to experience the game in unique ways.

The graphics have also received a substantial bump thanks to a retooling of Io-Interactive's Glacier tool.

Janos Flsser, Io-Interactive's managing director, explains: "Considerable time and effort has been spent developing a new version of the Glacier engine that enables us to implement many new and exciting features."

"The quality of the graphics and A.I. surpasses even our own expectations and this combined with a gripping narrative and the introduction of some really inventive characters makes us confident that Blood Money will be the greatest Hitman title to date."

Hitman: Blood Money will be released for PlayStation 2, Xbox and PC in spring 2005.

Hitman: Blood Money - New Screens

There are no explanations for why Agent 47 is a year late, but fans will be pleased simply to hear that things are still chugging along. New screens.

Agent 47 may be a year late, but expectations for his new game, Hitman: Blood Money for PlayStation 2 and Xbox, are just as high as they were last spring when the game was originally supposed to come out. With the release date now finally approaching, Eidos is gathering its forces to boost the glabrous assassin back into the limelight, which means it's time for a new Web site.

The revamped Hitman: Blood Money site collects all the official information from the game, including a new trailer, giving you a better idea of what to expect.

In his latest outing, Agent 47 is again out for blood to further his financial growth, though things have been jostled. For instance, the visibility of your kills affects how you progress. So while you can mow down your mark with abandon, if you don't clean up after yourself your face will be in the papers, making your life generally harder.

There's still (!) no specific release date for Hitman: Blood Money, but Eidos' promise of this spring suggests that it won't be long now before the company gives fans a date to circle.

Additional Information:
If you have an SLI configuration in your machine you can add the command 'enablesli' (without quotes) into the bottom of the

HitmanBloodMoney.ini file to enable the Managed Vertex Buffer which should result in some performance increase.
Important Note. This only applies to machines with an SLI configuration.

A very small number of users have reported instability on the "Curtains Down" level. A successful workaround for this problem is to lower the hardware acceleration slider for your audio device from within the dxdiag application:

(1) Select Run from the START Menu.
(2) Type 'dxdiag' (without the quotes) in to the dialog box and press enter.
(3) Select the Sound tab
(4) Move the "Hardware Sound Acceleration Level" slider to the left to disable Full Acceleration.
(5) Select Exit
