Yippy-Ty-O-Ty-Ay!!! Welcome to the home of the Amanasikara Institute for the promotion of "mental non-engagement" in the dharma. We put the ah in amanasikara. When the Tibetan dharma teacher Chogyam Trungpa met the Beatnik poet Allen Ginsberg he was known for chanting OM at the 1968 Democratic Convention here in Chicago. Rinpoche suggested that he switch to AH instead. Smart move. The syllable is said to be the seed to the perfection of wisdom sutras, prajnaparamita. It also represents the essence of the Kagyu lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, of which Trungpa was a lineage holder. For our purposes here though, it represents the ah we experience when we experience amanasikara, mental non-engagement, and are simply in the moment. Bring your attention to your intention and enjoy the message board. Just say ah. Enjoy. May we benefit sentient beings without exception.
