This is a group where people who want to be happier can meet and support each other.

This group promotes a holistic approach to mental health by study and discussion, NOT therapy, and denounces brain drugs & so called "mental disorders". It is based on the work of William Glasser, M.D.

The basic principle is that the symptoms of mental distress are created by severe unhappiness and NOT by the unproven hypothesis that they are caused by a "chemical imbalance" in the brain. THERE IS NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF!!!

This group is NOT for those who wish to argue about the validity of mental illness, mental disorders or mental distress. It is for those willing to accept that they have a normal brain and prefer non-judgmental compassion from others. Badgering, criticism or exerting external control towards other members will not be tolerated and may get you banned from the group!

WARNING: Those who take brain drugs are NOT advised to stop taking them without consulting a doctor first. The side effects can be extremely severe by stopping cold!

The group moderator is NOT a licensed therapist! Psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists & counselors are encouraged to join the group as long as they understand and believe in the teachings of Dr. Glasser.

Choice Theory is based on the findings of William Glasser, M.D. His books include, "Warning: Psychiatry Can Be Hazardous to Your Mental Health", "Choice Theory: A New Psychology of Personal Freedom", "Reality Therapy: A New Approach to Psychiatry", "Eight Lessons for a Happier Marriage" and several others.
