Stop blaming oil companies for the price of oil. Speculators, environmentalists, and most of all GOVERNMENT affect the price of oil. The average oil company makes .10 TEN cents on a gallon of gas and the Federal, State, and Local governments make .56 FIFTY SIX cents per gallon. Start voting RIGHT!!

There are (3) main components to the price of gas.

1. The cost of the OIL

2. The cost to make the gas, blends, labor costs, electricity, property taxes, unemployment taxes, excise taxes, maintanance, and transportation.

3. Additional costs like Direct TAXES.

Simple math
Cost of oil is currently $1.52 a gallon (that is the COST of the OIL)
Current Federal, state, and local taxes average .71 a gallon.
Cost to ADD blends .75 a gallon.

The rest is the cost to make and transport. Now unless you can get the workers and drivers to work for free then the options are limited.

So just where do you think we can cut a $1.50 off the current price?

Simplest way would be to reduce taxes, that would get us a quarter of the way there, and the second is to get rid of these stupid blends, there is another quarter. That leaves another .75 cents. I don't think you can get much lower than .55 cents a gallon to make it, transport it, store it, and them maintain the gas stations to SELL it.

Hey, I got a novel idea, why don't we start using some of our own and get the price LOWERED. Even if it stays the SAME price, wouldn't you rather your dollars going to US companies, with US employees, paying US taxes, and living and spending in the US rather than sending your money to the Middle East so they can buy more grenades and machine guns?

For more detail on why gas is so exspensive, here is a repeat of a prior post.

What makes gas cost what it does.

Politicians will not let us drill 125 miles off the coast of Florida in fact we can’t drill 310 miles off the coast of Florida but Cuba CAN!! There are an estimated 4.6 Billion barrels of oil in the eastern Gulf of Mexico. Would someone please explain to me why?

Once again gas prices are up but we still can’t tap into the 10.4 Billion barrels of oil in ANWR. This is a specific area set aside FOR oil drilling. Politicians playing politics.

Oil shale. The US has an estimated reserve of 1.5 TRILLION barrels of oil in the mid-west in the form of oil shale. That is 5 TIMES the reserves of Saudi Arabia. Would some one please tell me why we are still dependent on the Chavez’s and the mullahs.

Price of oil going up? Why? Are the oil companies making a profit? An obscene profit? One of the reasons for the price increases is the 12 different blends of gas we have to produce in the US. The production costs alone went up by 55 cents from Jan 1 to April 16th. This is NOT profit, this is the COST to make the gas, mainly from having to supply additives and changing over production methods just to meet “local” criteria.

In that same time period the price of oil went up on .20 cents. Guess what, the average retail price went up .72 cents. So are the companies making obscene profits? The cost to produce the gas, materials and production went up .75 and the price went up .72. Lets use a little common sense here.

During the same time period the GOVERNMENT, with no investment, no facilities, nothing more than making a law has received .56 cents on every gallon of gas.

The average oil company makes .10 TEN cents on a gallon of gas and the Federal, State, and Local governments make .56 FIFTY SIX cents per gallon.

In the last quarter of ’06 the gas companies SOLD over 3 BILLION gallons of gas.

In the last quarter of ’06 the gas companies made over 300 MILLION Dollars.

In the last quarter of ’06 the Government made over 1.6 BILLION in taxes.

The current price of oil is $1.52 a gallon. The current estimate to recover oil from oil shale is .71 Seventy ONE cents a gallon.

Stop trying to blame your problems on oil companies and President Bush! If people would spend half the time they spend hating President Bush on advancing their life and achieving their dreams, this world would be wonderful!
