Gear 4 Groms is an after school program that introduces inner city kids to the world of skateboarding.

Our partners in include ASAP (After School Activities Partnerships) S.A.N (Skateboard Advocacy Network), local skate shops and our volunteer group leaders / skateboard instructors: Joe Benzon (North East), AJ Kohn (South) and Joshua Schaeffer (South/West).

All of our skateboards,helmets, ramps etc. are all donated. In addition we have started a fund raising project (T-Shirts, Complete Skateboards, Outside of program lessons group and private) to raise monies for building supplies, permits and promotional cards / stickers etc. to raise awareness of the cause.

Over 50,000 kids in the city of Philadelphia unsupervised from the time school ends until at least 6 pm everyday. Gear for GROMS is a program that gives kids a place to go, grow and have fun in a safe and well supervised environment.
