Apple bills the iPhone as the "Internet in your pocket." It's a truly revolutionary device. But the iPhone is chained to AT&T -- a mighty gatekeeper, which limits what you can do and where you can go on the wireless Web.

Bad policies have allowed companies like AT&T and Verizon to shackle great gadgets to closed networks. For devices like the iPhone to be truly revolutionary we need the FCC and Congress must use the 700MHz spectrum auction to create an open network that gives consumers:

1. The freedom to use whatever device we want on any network.
2. The freedom to choose among many providers in a competitive marketplace.
3. The freedom to access any content or services through any wireless device.
