WELCOME TO SURVIVORS:

A little about what this group is and is not. This is not a debate group, it is a group where we can share our stories of events in our lives and how we overcame them, our "experience strength and hope", it is a spiritual group, and a group where we can help and reach out to others. The healing process is not a destination, but for many of us a life long journey...we are victims no more, but SURVIVORS.Thank you for your interest and participation in this group.

IS SURVIVORS FOR YOU? Anybody who has overcome extrodinary circumstances, crises,or trauma in their life or anybody struggling with overcoming circumstances, crises, or trauma going on in their lives. Although this is not a requirement to become a member of this group...all are welcome.

JUST WHAT IS SURVIVORS? Anybody who has struggled and overcome or is currently struggling and trying to overcome a wide range of issues in their lives. Some examples, although not limited to these are the following: Drug/Alcohol addiction, mental health illnesses/disorders, handicaps/disabilities,loss of a spouse, child or other loved one,divorce, terminal/chronic illnesses (even an illness such as diabetes), emotional/physical/sexual abuse, rape, suicide, coming to terms with ones gender orientation (example: am I gay?) to name only a few. We are a group that is similar to 12- step programs, same spirtual principles, without the steps

BLOGS: Blogs are encouraged, and I suggest they be posted in the "groups bullitans" section of the group. If this becomes popular enough I may designate a pinned thread for blogs.

GROUP RULES: There's an old cliche' that states "Rules are made to be broken" so I didn't want to write any actual "rules" and would prefer to call them suggestions. I'll give you the basics though, we are all grown adults, most of us myspace/group veterns. This group is a safe sanctuary for people that are in the process of healing, please treat it as such, be courteous to people, no bashing, don't be condescending, be compassionate. I have no unrealistic expectations that no conflict will ever arise, and that peoples emotions can run quite passionate. People are in various places in their journey of healing, some of us are still learning or have difficulty managing our emotions, and still learning new social skills, I keep these things in mind as moderator. If you have a scenerio where a disagreement/conflict arrises, and you feel it esculating, you may consider taking a break from posting, whether it be an hour a day, a few days, whatever, til you get your composure back together.

What to expect from me as a moderator: If you have any concerns about the group or a member you feel may be a disruption I encourage you to address them to me and I will investigate it, the more information I have (such as links to the incident) the more promptly I can investigate. I will always get back with you as promptly as my time allows. Be aware though I may not always tell you what you want to hear or take the action you desire or think I should take, I will make my own evaluation and these incidents will be evaluated on a case by case basis, and if deamed necessary disciplinary actions may be necessary. And of course anybody coming into the group with the INTENT of disrupting it will be banned immediately. Any threads of someone trying to "sell" something, bots etc will be deleted. And last of all if you have a new group that you are promoting, feel free to post it, but I ask that PLEASE It be posted ONLY In the Bullitans section of this group as to not clutter up the topic threads.
