About DOUBLE BROWN
Here's the DOUBLE BROWN story. It starts off in 1994ish, me and friend Jay Rushlow would "jam" together. We worked with Ryan who invited us over to guess what? Jam. We played many shows as a three piece without a bassist. We had our close friend Mike Baker buy a bass and learn to play. We then played more shows mostly college house party basement shows, and backyard bbq's. Including Jay Vogel's high school graduation party. At this point we didn't have anything set in stone writing wise, and we did a lot of improving. We've been cheered for more, and also boo'd like hell. That era of DB was some of the funnest times for me bandwise. After a year or so of existence, we disbanded. Played in different bands here and there. Ryan sang with Lord Mudd and I played with a few bands including The Jeffery Truck and Hyatt. In the fall of 1998 I got back in touch with Rushlow and we had an idea for a band. We would get Ryan who sang with us in DOUBLE BROWN and I would call up Mike Doyle whom I played in The Jeffery Truck with. When he heard who was singing he was in without question. So we had me on drums , Rushlow switched to Bass. Mike Doyle played guitar and all we needed was a name at this point. So we just brought back the name DOUBLE BROWN. We wrote 5 songs and played our first show on Halloween night at Dom Polski's in Wyandotte that same fall. About a month or two later, the time came where we parted ways with Rushlow and Jay Vogel stepped in. This would be the final line up to ever hit the stage as DOUBLE BROWN. We played some fun shows, wrote a bunch of great songs, and booked some studio time to get a few tracks on tape. Our last show was at the Heidelberg in Ann Arbor with The Lanternjack and most likely Ridgmont. The date escapes me. Thanks to all that would come out regularly, we had a good time.
