The rules:
-Girls only! I can't stress this enough. Guys, stop trying to join!
-One book per month.
-The girl who chose the book must find the meeting place.
-She must also lead the discussion on the book.
-Before each meeting, the girl who chose the current book chooses who picks the next book, and lets her know at least a week before the meeting, so she can tell us at the meeting what book she has chosen.
-If you haven't read the book, you can't come to the meeting (also, can't stress this enough!). You cannot come to the meeting to talk about books in general, we will be talking about one specific book, and if you haven't read it, you will only distract those of us that did from the topic.
-If you don't come to the meeting, you can't be picked the next month to choose the next book.
Rules about book choice:
-You must have read the book (not just "heard a lot about it").
-Too many other people in the group can't have already read it.
-Must be a reasonable length (under 450 pages, preferably, we're busy girls).
-Books that are one in a series are strongly discouraged, unless you manage to convince the next few girls to go with the next books in the series (which is unlikely).
Bring wine, cheese, and whatever food items nerdy book-loving girls eat/drink. And feel free to invite your sisters, friends, or girlfriends to join! The more the merrier!
P.S. Sorry to you book-loving boys, you have to start your own book club.
