From the silent movie era to the present day, Los Angeles and Hollywood, together with Broadway, have been epicenters of dance as both art and entertainment. The movie history is long, rich, and varied, and many of the great choreographers from the theatrical dance world have worked in Hollywood at one time or another. Now the Southern California dance scene stretches from Valencia to Chula Vista, and from Riverside to Malibu, producing some of the finest dancers and choreographers in the world.
