Frosted Pink is the creation of Mike Burg, CEO of Edge Entertainment, a Charlotte, North Carolina based marketing and production firm that specializes in the creation of entertainment and sports specials for national broadcast. In addition to the numerous network and cable events created by Edge, Burg's firm also has a touring division that stages Olympic arena Tours in the areas of skating and gymnastics. The Edge representation division has a similar skating and gymnastics focus. The Edge broadcast portfolio includes the Teen Choice Awards on FOX, the Kids Choice Awards on Nickelodeon, Ice Wars on CBS, and Hope Rocks on FOX.

As a two-time cancer survivor and someone whose family has been deeply affected by women’s cancers, Burg felt the need to use his expansive broadcast experience and marketing talents to do something. Pulling from his own experiences as a cancer survivor and his understanding of the need for people living with cancer to learn it, lead it, and launch it, Burg teamed up with four of the nation’s most effective women’s cancer advocacy and educational organizations to develop Frosted Pink, a groundbreaking campaign that combines the power of sport, song, and survivorship to raise awareness of cancers that primarily affect women and inspire action.

Along with the Frosted Pink Partners and ABC, Burg and Edge Entertainment have developed a multimedia two-year campaign that encourages people to take action in a variety of ways on women’s cancers. In 2008, ABC will air Pink with a TwistTM which will highlight gymnastics stars from the Beijing Summer Olympics performing with pop music icons just two weeks after the Olympic Closing Ceremonies. Pink with a Twist will continue to promote the important messages of Frosted Pink.

In order to assure the most responsible and accurate information in the Frosted Pink broadcast and on the web site, the Frosted Pink campaign is supported by a team of medical professionals and representatives from the Frosted Pink Partners.

Frosted Pink is made possible by the generous support of a number of active and community-focused corporate sponsors. All sponsorship dollars will go to support the activities of the Frosted Pink initiative and broadcast. Funds raised over and above the required broadcast and initiative costs will be split equally among the Frosted Pink Partners.
