Back in the hey day of the Jesus Movement an organization was born to take under its wings, all of those who felt like the Lone Ranger. Those who were Christian, but involved in a world of the arts where it seemed as if not many, not even the church understood what they were doing. Thus many in the early days of the ‘Jesus Movement’ got involved and begin to provide support for each other. Whether Creative Dance, Music, Magic, Art, or whatever, multitudes of the early founders of the ‘Jesus Movement’ such as Rob Cassels, Petra, Keith Green and numerous others became involved in this organization that not only understood, but encouraged each other to stay strong in their faith, be original in their giftedness, and to ‘Sing a New Song” or to “Dance a New Dance.”

After the development of the FCCM, there was a shift of those wanting to focus on the business end of the industry, and those who wanted to maintain a ministry focus. Shortly thereafter the formation of the group NCO, Network for Creative Outreach begin and the annual gatherings continued with a somewhat differing focus.

Those were the days, the days where one could be encouraged to be a follower of Jesus, in completeness, yet encouraged to use their gifts, whether for entertainment, or ministry. This approach has been missed and in many ways lost. Thus the reformation of this group, FCCM / NCO. Do you have stories? Things to share, questions about where you are with your giftedness? Things you need to check out, you know ‘When in doubt, check it out?’ Then this is the group for you. Hopefully some of the old timers who have been around can come in, give their thoughts, offer their help, and bring in a new fold of artisans whether in music, speaking, art, dance, puppetry or whatever, and offer advice that will keep some from repeating the mistakes of the past.
