CONTACT!
There seem to be some errors in the contact details on Ms Maguire’s letter - the correct ones are now below.
Also there is the email service and address for PM Gordon Brown. The website says that due to the number of messages he receives, it is impossible for him to reply to all of them. But I think a bombardment of letters and e-mails would be the best way of getting a response.
This is the emailing service to the Prime Minister Gordon Brown:

This does not guarantee a response. According to www.pm.gov.uk, however, if you want a personal reply from the Prime Minister you should write to him at

A message from Lawrence (Head Boy) about the meeting with the Director of Education, Ged Rowney:
Hi, well all the students there were trying to get their points across to him, but he was adamant that this was just the start of a debate about the plans. The other proposals do not involve closing the school but it is clear that for him and Serco closing all the schools is the very much prefered option. He kept saying there would still be a school here, but clearly it would not be the same as it is now.
The archdiocese has said that if St Joes does close then in wont reopen us because we currently steal all of the brightest catholic children. Closing us would apparently be part of the bigger picture for improving education in Stoke if this proposal goes ahead. The meeting was recorded and a summary of it will be available for everyone to read very soon. But we only have until January to make them ’prefer’ another option. Hopefully this is some help for the moment.
Lawrence
