mateusz wójcik [ plastikowy ] invites us to self created world – world of monsters. the exhibition monsterland consits of last year`s works. oryginal drawings are sized a4 made in india ink. render their back bones better and make easier their perception they`ve been transfered to numeral enviroment, so closed to the artist, opening new prospects for both performance and perception

savings in approaching the creative process and the matherial made his works pleasntly aesthetical.
Conection in refering to the street-art., to the design and up-to-day styles in approaching people make these works and the author the outstanding feature of modern young art`s generation.it`s specific adaptation manners to mainlines of out-of-date but still attractive postmodernism, it refreshes the heavy atmosphere that wrapped this trend; also through the dialoque between past epoches
[ dadaism, popart ], necessity to transform them into contemporary, to adjust them to present needs in the way of communication and reception

plastiowy`s works are presenting the whole spectrum of interpretation to the viewer. using forms that are recalling childlish drawings he causes the viewer to adhere it`s intimacy, it`s subject matter and in a some way allows the observer to idnetifyhimself with the artist. for everybody the collation with monsterland`s heros will show in a different way the world, the world which existance noone imagination wouldn`t ever denied

monsters` land it`s an alternative world, a product of imagination, which allows us to escape from reality. each of the monsters acts as a reflection of reality; sometimes it seems to be a desire for changes, another time it seems to be a natural image of reality. one can treat these works as the art`s metaphor – an escape from reality, a commentary upon it, in other words an attempt to mark changes
[ at least through one`s attitude]

each wójcik`s work let the spectator to set up for the trip to monsters` world – monsterland of one`s imagination, all the monsters have got their own individual features, they provoke different reactions, they engender different emotions...... for everyone another monster becomes close related, provokes some kinds of identity. . one should asked a question – what is the monster in my head like, my monster?
