Our name is ironic, but our mission is no joke. Master Kudzu Gardeners encourages sustainable landscaping in urban environments.
We exchange information and resources for no- and low-cost, low-maintenance yards, gardens and permaculture, preferably featuring native plants to lower the city's carbon footprint, and restore natural habitat.
This group was started after Chattanooga Tennessee's chief yard inspector told me my only alternative to a grass lawn was kudzu. He wouldn't allow a native meadow. But Judge Paty did.
Below is a tour of my meadow and reforesting project, which I've had to defend in city court three times in three years. All citations were dismissed.
