My name is Robert Reddell I set up this MySpace account as a tribute to my late Aunt Joan "Eve" Rydell and to the women and men that had the courage to perform in those difficult times, both as burlesque performers, pin-up models and photographers.
We, Joan's family are asking for everyones help to continue researching Joan's past history as well as her husband Jack Bradley. You can help by sending us a contribution/donation of an autographed photo or other memorabilia that we can auction off to raise the needed funds to continue the expensive research and aquiring of Joan and Jacks original work. We also will accept cash donations.
In doing this research and post the results helps to promote models, actresses and burlesque performers all over the world.
There are others things that can be done to help as well. Put Joan's myspace page on your top friends so it gets more exposure. Printout and post this note every where you can, share this message with any and all performers, models, strippers, photographers, groups and troupes, musicians, collectors and dealers, classes, clubs, everyone, everywhere.
Brief history of Joan more on my page. I have hundreds of her photos posted there as well as one video so far.
Joan was a model in the 1940s and 50s for Irving and Paula Klaw and posed for many magazines such as Wink, Flirt, Whisper, Titter, Beauty Parade, and many many others under the name Eve Rydell.
Joan passed away in 1967 from cervix cancer. I have been told that not only did she model and do 16mm film loops, but she also danced and sang at some point in her career. I was curious, if anyone has more historical information regarding Joan. She worked with Lois Meriden Cocoa Brown and many others.
Joan married John "Jack" Bradley who was a photographer for Irving and Paula Klaw. He took more pictures of Bettie Page than any other photographer. When Joan retired they moved to Atlantic City where Jack became a photographer to the stars such as Jerry Lewis, Dean Martin, Samy Davis Jr. the Marx Brothers and well just about everyone that was anyone in the 1950s.
I am mainly looking for information about both Joan and Jack, but also photos, clothing, films, articles. I need to know everything about these two very historical individuals.
Thank you in advance for any and all help locating my families history. Please post this message anywhere and every where to help us in this mission to preserve Joan and Jacks lives.
