Group Leader:

Knowledge is power A site for intellectuals to openly discuss the various things we see around us, and what we find to be important to us. I want this group to be a large collective of ideas of all kinds to be shared. "Before we acquire great power we must acquire wisdom to use it well." "Make the most of yourself, for that is all there is of you. " Ralph Waldo Emerson "Being ignorant is not so much a shame, as being unwilling to learn." Ben Franklin "Anger and intolerance are the enemies of correct understanding." "I suppose leadership at one time meant muscles; but today it means getting along with people. " "It has always been a mystery to me how men can feel themselves honoured by the humiliation of their fellow beings. " "Man becomes great exactly in the degree in which he works for the welfare of his fellow-men. " Mohandas Gandhi "Great minds are to make others great. Their superiority is to be used, not to break the multitude to intellectual vassalage, not to establish over them a spiritual tyranny, but to rouse them from lethargy, and to aid them to judge for themselves. " "No power in society, no hardship in your condition can depress you, keep you down, in knowledge, power, virtue, influence, but by your own consent. " "The great hope of society is in individual character. " William Ellery Channing I just feel that to many of the sites are nothing more than a place where people try to convince the other that they are right, by bullying them. Here I want to allow for debate, compromise, and explaining of ideas to actually try to change things for the better, through knowledge even if only a little.
