Did you hear the one about the Muslim couple and the two Baptists; the Jewish pair and the New Thought twosome who all sat down to dinner together?

While this may sound like the beginning of a joke, we are an organization which believes that small group social interactions like this offer the world a workable alternative to bias, bigotry, racism and religious intolerance. The notion is that people breaking bread together can serve to lower perceived barriers and promote respect and understanding between traditionally disconnected communities. Our organization is Common Tables.

At Common Tables we believe that achieving global harmony is as simple as getting to know one another. Our model is an uncomplicated one: Bring together small groups of seemingly diverse individuals. Offer them tools which allow them to dialogue in relaxed social settings. And encourage them to break bread together and to get to know one another.

Our goal is to be a catalyst fostering a global shift. A shift in which all people begin to honor the rich mosaic that is our global family. To date Common Tables has received expressions of interest from organizations and individuals in 128 different countries.
