The Canadian Institute of Portrait Artists (CIPA) is a non-profit society that has represented Canadian Portrait artists since 1999.

Statement of Purpose
- To further the fine art of portraiture (in both painting and sculpture) throughout Canada and abroad and to raise public awareness and understanding of this art form.
- To promote portraiture by stimulating fellowship amoung artists, critics and individuals interested in the field of art, whatever its form.
- To mentor emerging Canadian artists in their study of portraiture through personal encouragement, including participation in juried shows.
- To participate from time to time in activities which foster the recognition of Canadian culture and diversity, especially when it encourages the preservation of art forms.
- To encourage establishment of CIPA chapters across Canada.
- To cooperate with organizations throughout Canada and the world having similar objectives to those of CIPA.
