Fight 2 Breathe is a group started by Zinnia Moreno. My dad is the manager of Two Time Heavyweight Champion Of The World Shannon Briggs. Shannon is the first heavyweight champion of the world to win the title not just once but twice with asthma.

When you hear the name Shannon Briggs, you think of a two time Heavyweight Champion, the charismatic and talented man that has more first round knockouts than any other Heavyweight including Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson. His amazing accomplishments would be almost impossible for an asthmatic, but Shannon Briggs has persevered and accomplished much in the world of Heavyweight with his condition.

He was born with asthma and has been having asthma attacks since he was a child. His mother was told that she would not be able to have children and Shannon was born prematurely. It was a miracle that he was even born.

Since Shannon Briggs is the only Heavyweight champion in the history of the sport with asthma, it may be difficult to understand how amazing these achievements are. In boxing, you cannot let your guard down or take a break once the fight has started. If you have an asthma attack and lose your breath, you cannot stop.

Shannon Briggs has been in that situation a number of times. The amount of heart, determination, and strength, Shannon had to show in those times are extraordinary. To understand and appreciate the display of iron will, you must learn about asthma.

As Thomas Jefferson wrote the Deceleration of Independence based on his belief that the three inalienable rights are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Asthma is a threat to life. Asthma restricts the intake of oxygen an makes the body go into survival mode to get air to the lungs. Your heart races and there is usually a severe tightness in the chest and pain throughout the body. There are also mental effects as well. The thought of This might be the last breath I take is unbelievable. Asthma also leads to chronic results. Eleven people die each day from asthma because there is no cure, only treatment.

Shannon Brigs has mastered the art of "Fighting to Breathe" and wants to establish a partnership with every asthmatic person on Earth so they can win the fight for breath.
