Success is the accomplishment of goals and objectives necessary to achieve a particular task, a particular dream or satisfy a particular need or want, for a particular period of time. When you want something so badly and success is not in the attainment of the thing itself, but it is in the actual process you go through in order to get it. It is the long hours you put into it, it’s the decision that you make to continue to strive harder, it’s the lesson you learn from others. Success goes far beyond outward achievements and accumulation of money. Sometimes it’s just pure luck. Some people say you make your own. Others claim you have no control over it. Still others believe that some divine providence is orchestrating all the coincidences, accidents, and stroke of fate that punctuate our lives. To be successful is to remain in motion in order to use all the potential you came on this earth with. True success will result in material possessions but they do not define the term. Those possessions are wonderful, but they are not driving forces behind the actions of a successful individual. When trying to succeed you must think about what you want in your life. Not for your friends, spouse, parents, but yourself. The key is to understand what works for you, what you want out of life, form a career and from a family. And don’t let others define it for you. You have to figure out what drives you and what will make you happy. It’s really important that you have your own goals.
To begin the journey to your success you must first start with a desire to succeed. When you have the desire to succeed, you do not give way, you do not give up, and you do not give in. Your desire makes you stand your ground and detractors sooner or later realize they cannot stop you because you always turn your stumbling blocks into stepping-stones. Your desire helps you build up the potential to create success. To desire strongly is to want with a powerful and voracious hunger that accepts no defeat, no compromise, and no substitution other than the complete satisfaction.
Secondly, the most important part of success is faith. Before you make the first step toward success, you must first believe. You must believe in yourself, you must believe in your Creator, and you must believe in your dream-that it can actually be achieved. Once you do believe, your mind goes into high gear to bring into existence what you have conceptualized.
Finally, success requires persistence. It means not bowing down to the obstacles of life; it means staying in the fight punch after punch, blow after blow. It is important to realize that success itself is a challenge. If it were not, it would not follow the principle of being reserved for the fittest. If you do not persevere, you run the risk of being left behind. Perseverance builds character and strength; it promotes creativity; it forces you to think hard. Persistence is faith, desire, and determination wrapped in one. Because of persistence failures are no longer devastating but become reasons for you to rearm yourself.
